Pretty easy to install when watching the install video. This works great and the only limitation is the distance the factory remote reaches. All plug and play and comes with everything you need. Seemed like a well built product and probably the best value for remote start on the 4Runner.

I requested this for my birthday and my husband delivered. He installed it and said that it was fairly easy. There are a few great YouTube videos that he found to be very useful and it took a total of an hour to complete. As for my daily use, I think this automatic starter is great. We live in a location that has some brutal winters. I love that I can have the vehicle nice and warm before loading the kids up to leave the house. It is also great for the summer to cool off the vehicle. (You just have to make sure to remember to turn on your AC or heater accordingly) Another great use for this is when I have to pick up the kids from daycare. I am able to lock the vehicle, with it still running, while I run inside to grab the kids. I don't have to worry about leaving the key in the ignition. (You can click the lock 3 times on the key fob while it is in the ignition and it will keep the vehicle running and you are able to remove the key) So overall it is very versatile and useful.

Birthday present for my wife and she is super happy about it! Easy to install, not a bad value and the biggest benefit of all she can warm up her car from inside the house. Decent range and we have and no issues.

Super good deal for a remote start! Worked well for the wife's car. Easy install and hides up under the dash. This has been a great addition for hot summers and icy winters!

just put this in my 11 4runner trail. works great, the install and programming were easy once I had the covers off the underdash and wheel. that said the videos linked in the instruction for getting into the dash are very quick and skip some steps. you would be better off watching some of the many other videos on youtube explaining how to get the covers off. once the covers are off its like 5 minutes to plug in and program, then a few more to figure out how you want to zip tie the control box inside the dash and secure your wires. I have a trailer brake controller in there too, but there was still plenty of room. most of your install time will be spent getting the covers on and off.

I've put this device in 2 different 5th gen 4runners. A 2015 and a 2016 and it works great. I've only had a few issues (2 or 3 times) in the few years I've had it where it doesn't wanna start and gives up but starts no problem with the key right after. Cables feel really durable and the hardware seems goods. Simple to install even if you don't have much experience. The 5th gen 4runner key fob has a terrible range but thats Toyotas fault not StartX
