THE book on the fundamentals of magnetic materials
The various concepts are explained in such a reader-friendly way, that it is a joy to read this book. Even extremely complex theories are taken apart and put together in a simple-to-follow way. You can feel that this book was written by somebody who not only understood it all, but experimented with it all, AND could explain it all. It is a rare gift.Other authors simply assume that the reader knows certain things and some other things are obvious. Cullity did not. And the upgrade to the SI system by Graham is really useful. The book goes from spins to heat treatment. The meaning of equations is not only explained, but in a single paragraph a clarity is provided, unrivalled to what I have seen so for in other classical books: Bozorth, Chikazumi, Jiles, Coey, Fiorillo. Holbrow, and Griffiths don't even mention the magnetic material, so it is difficult to understand how EXACTLY magnetism is linked to the atoms, electrons and spins.Thank you Prof. Cullity for writing this book and Prof. Graham for making the 2nd edition to happen. I am happy that I came across it, and was given the opportunity to enjoy it.
