Two thumbs up
I've used this multiple time on many different items and it works great! He took really good and it is very versatile! The size is perfect and makes it very portable! I'm a beginner at this soldering and this helped really well.

My first temp control iron, best I've used! Don't judge! :)
I bought this kit as recommended by this mouse nerd guy on Youtube, which I viewed before replacing the old switches on my beloved Logitech G400 mouse. Got the kit, turned the temp up about midway, and started desoldering the old switches. This is the first time I've had sufficient heat to solder quickly and effectively, and it was GLORIOUS. My old iron was a cheap radio shack 'turn on and go make a coffee before starting' model, and the difference is night and day. I'm serious. If you, like myself have been using some cheap iron and wondering why it takes so long, GET THIS KIT. It is CHEAP and EFFECTIVE. This thing gets to temp so fast, and the other bits are useful too I'm sure, but I only used the iron. Grab some desolder wick and some flux elsewhere and you'll be set for many things. Best value, easily.

I ordered one of these, it worked very well so I ordered a second one as present for a young man who will make good use of it. The entire kit is worth more than the price but I don't want to judge it like a high end iron. That said it gets hot very fast and is quite responsive. I use a green type acid paste Flux and rosin solder to wet my tips and the tips are showing signs of wear after a couple of projects. I take good care of the tips and prevent oxidation but they are not made of a long haul alloy, still, for the price and function, they are fine. The temp control is not really precise, but it is good enough for normal use, and the desoldering pump and tweezers were a nice and usfull touch. All and all it is worth the money and works very well out of the box, you will want tinning Flux and some steel wool because the tips are very lightly treated. I saw another review which said that the tips did not transfer heat well... This was not the case for me. Even the needle point was conductive enough to melt solder points and do desoldering work. The ceramic element looks delicate, not a big deal but between the tips and the element I shut it off if it was going to take more than a couple of minutes to get to the next use. The "stand" is a joke, it's so bad it kind of prankish.. I guess you could screw it to a table... But I wouldn't. Tldr: Buy it if you have a few hours of work to do and I think it will treat you well. It's certainly a good price for what you get. Update: after running this thing for a year I must say that it is an amazing tool. Yeah, it's not precise, yep, I said the element looked cheap... Still true, but this iron is still working perfect and now has done a lot more work than most units will see if you do occasional repairs, I 3d print, work on computers and work on electronics hardware and it is still going.... I said it was a good price, I was wrong, it's an amazing price, almost a steal!

Excellent Quality Soldering Iron and Stand
Hubby was ecstatic to receive this soldering iron for his birthday. He loves the on/off and precise temperature features compared to his old one temp, plug in equals on version. Comes with a stand and everything needed for basic soldering. Well made, great price point.
