DIRECTV SLSPF SlimLine SLSPF / SL5S 5 Satellite Dish Antenna (Discontinued by Manufacturer)

Came quickly and went together easily. Will work well with my camper.

When my Dish arrived, I was pretty excited, thinking I could have it set up in time for Sunday football. When I opened the box I was disappointed to see that the various parts were haphazardly thrown in. Even hardware like screws, nuts, bolts, etc. we're just tossed in, not packaged. No instructions included, WORST OF ALL...important parts that are required to assemble this were missing. There was no Back Assembly (essential for tilting the dish),and not as big of a deal, no coaxial cable.I e-mailed the seller, and hopefully they will send me the missing parts, but it'll take another 10-days before I receive it, and consequently will miss 2-weeks of football.

Well built. Came with no instructions, but relatively easy to figure out. Works great.

Contains everything you will need. EXCEPT the most important of all things, the LNB! Without it, no reception of sat signal is possible. You must purchase a LNB separately, which could cost as much, if not more, than this antenna kit.Buyer beware. If it sounds too good to be true, listen to your Grand Mother's advise, IT IS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE!!! Save your money and buy a complete kit WITH THE LNB!!!!

Deducted a star for no instructions included but I had another installation nearby that I could reference. Got the Azimuth and Elevation from the DirecTV aiming site. Added the "KaKu LNB 5 for Slimline Dish Directv Brand" LNB and I was in business in no time.

Cheaper than the cost of what DirecTV would of charged to send a technician out for the flimsy 1st generation SlimLine Dish, this later model fixed things right up. This particular model has a thicker re-enforced area on the 90 degree angle where the arm attaches to the adjustable base. Heat and wind over time with the earlier flimsy model developed a hairline crack over time and sagged producing signal loss. I expect the equipment will reach end of life for support before this dish mount will fail.Another benefit was I didn't have to wait for a tech to show up while I was missing work and I didn't have the hassle of whoever I would of spoken to on the service call try to up-sell me something I didn't want.Shipping from the seller was fast and arrived in pristine shape.

Don't bother. After installation of the complete dish setup, without any alterations and as shipped to us by the seller, it failed to grab any signals. We tried to troubleshoot to get the dish to work to see if it was bad (warped or otherwise damaged) but could not get it to work at all. We subsequently replaced it with another satellite dish which worked fine. Not sure if the problem was in the manufacture or shipping. Completely unusable.
