Works like a charm!!!
After reading the reviews on this I decided to buy anyway since I have excellent knowledge of how to work with this equipment. I was able to check the calibration as soon as I received it in the mail. No issues from shipping. Just finished all calibration checks and have determined that is within specs. I’ve been surveying property and building structures for 40 years now and have determined this meets and exceeds all my needs. I’m surprised for such an inexpensive piece of equipment that it’s as accurate as it is. I don’t know why others have had issues? This works just as good as the more expensive that I’ve used in the past. My only issue is that I’m out of practice trying to do the math for gps coordinates and distances. I have to refer back to my books to remember but with time it will all come back to me. This is an excellent buy for what you get and how it works. Everyone should realize this is a transit and not a builders level. Two entirely different things. Both have distinct uses and different functions. Make sure you get the right one for your needs. I also found that when I was setting fence lines, I was able to shoot distances up to 600’ within a quarter of an inch accuracy. I haven’t shot my quarter mile line yet, but know that I’ll have to shoot at two different points and still be within a quarter inch. Anyone that doesn’t have the knowledge to use this should study up before you use and write a review. That way you’ll know precisely how this works and won’t be disappointed if you have the knowledge.

Good product for affordable price
I only need this transit to sight-in a previously surveyed location, and it fits this purpose nicely. The tripod is aluminum and sturdy; clamps tight. The transit itself is well-constructed, operates smoothly; and setup is simple and easy. I have not yet check the vertical and horizontal angular accuracy. Carrying case is plastic, a bit flimsy, but should stand up to moderate use. Overall, a good combination for an affordable price. I research several other design, combining separate tripod + transit, but this is the best fit product for my purpose.

Transit/Level accurate for small projects
The Tripod is lightweight but has decent lock-up. The Transit as a Level is accurate within 150-175 feet to the quarter of an inch. As a Transit, the Horizonal Dial cannot be adjusted more than to a half degree, and that with only REALLY GOOD EYESIGHT. I shot Stadia and found the transit to be accurate within a foot at 250-300 feet (horizonal). Easy three-knob adjustments for leveling on the tripod head. The Level Rod is VERY LIGHT DUTY, but taken care can last a good while. The plastic snaps are sufficient, but not likely durable as metal ones. Similar in design to the 'david white" instrument, however the Optics are very cheap and CANNOT be used in very "low light" scenarios. I would have paid the extra 100 bucks for a "dw" brand if I'd had the opportunity to try this out. Overall a decent occasional use Transit Level.

nice
I had never used an instrument like this before but this was easy to set up and use, worked exactly as described. The box used for shipping was really beat up when delivered but the transit survived and is very accurate.

Great Transit/Level for the price
I really like this product. When I was younger, I was responsible for grades and alignment on many big highway projects after taking surveying classes in college. This is not a high end transit/level, but you cannot go wrong with this product especially considering the price.

Missing Grade Rod
The transit looks good and the lenses are good for the price. Mine came missing the grade rod. I need it now can't wait for a refund-replacement. I will just have to purchase a grade rod. There are only three leveling screws on the transit, so it takes longer to calibrate it. I would pay more for four screws if I used it more often.

Excellent Instrument
I purchased this as a used item from Amazon because of it's discounted price when new. When it arrived I couldn't get it to set up properly on all planes even after all of the recommended adjustments in the accompanying manual. Now I figured I'd have to send it off to be calibrated by a professional, costing me additional dollars. After further investigation, I was able to adjust the scope to perfect accuracy by adjustments not noted in the manual. Fortunately I have a technical background and was able to figure it out. It now is dead level perfect and allowed me to successfully pour a level footing for the greenhouse i am building!

Works well
Once you get it set up precisely, it’s easy to use and very helpful in measuring to level an area of the yard.
