Can it crack Macadamia Nuts?

No, it's not robust enough for that. When I started using mine for macadamia nuts, the claw part snapped off, destroying the sheller. So, a Texan Nut Sheller can't crack a macadamia nut, but a macadamia nut *can* crack a Texan Nut Sheller.

i had one of the old ones, fantastic for brazil nuts. But do the newer, smaller ones work as well on brazils?

It's actually the same size, just doesn't seem to be built to the same standards as the originals that were made in the USA. Honestly, I haven't even used mine yet & not a fan of brazil nuts, so can't answer that.My personal feeling is you won't see one of these holding up for 50 years like the originals.

Are both blades suppose to have an edge? The one i bought only one blade does.
