Best Travel Guide
I've always found these travel guides to be excellent resources. They are extremely helpful during the preparation, vacation, and after. It's very helpful to focus on what you want to see while you are visiting. Once you are there, there are useful maps, including bus, taxi, and rail information. Once you're home, the guide (because of it's awesome photos and descriptions) are helpful in identifying some of the sites you saw and visited.

Visual and verbal
DK guides do a good job of providing both visual and verbal information about a destination and the Norway guide fits that format. It is a quite useful introduction to the country and the maps, diagrams and photos are nicely done and helpful. I wish it were lighter so I could carry it along on my trip but lighter weight would cheapen its quality (excellent) and I would not like that. I often scan or photocopy the most useful pages to take with me. I have been buying DK guides for several years and like their consistency and quality. The only drawback for me is their lack of depth of information but then, that is not why I am purchasing this particular guide.

An intriguing country
I am a near neighbor of Norway, from the northeast of England, although now living in Chicago (which is nowhere near Norway!) My recent interest in the country is due to my fascination wih the novels of Jo Nesbo, which are set largely in the Oslo area, but range wider across the entire country. This is mysterious part of Europe for me and i hope to have the opportunity to visit some day.

Great Tour Guide
We love these Eyewitness books. Loaded with photos and on-the-scenes diagrams. Excellent cross referencing and numbering systems. Top recommendations for hotels, restaurants, shopping and best sights to visit. All this is by region, which really helps in planning. While we're at it, we strongly recommend a visit to Norway, with its majestic scenery and considerate people!

HELPFUL BOOK ON NORWAY
The DK Eyewitness Travel Guide is a good overall book on Norway. It does lack some information regarding the very northern and eastern areas of Norway which I was interested in having been to the more popular areas of that country. That is the reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 stars.

Travelling to Scandanavia? Get one of these books
Easy to read, the book is regionalized for easy reference. Photos are high quality. My purchase was a library copy, so somewhat broken in, but the information was first rate and easy to read. I also purchased similar books on Sweden and Stockholm; the Norway book was for my wife.
