DK Readers: First Day at Gymnastics (Level 1: Beginning to Read) (DK Readers Level 1)

I bought this for my gymnastics-obsessed 4 year old, and it's been a big hit. It has been read at least once a night, every night, since it arrived two weeks ago. She can now read it by herself - but would much rather have me read it, so she can fling herself around the bedroom, copying all the moves in the book! She loves reading all the "boxed" words by herself, and recognising them in the text.A definite favourite. Pity there aren't more in the same reader level series about gymnastics!

I bought this for my daughter before she began gymnastics camp this summer. She loved reading it over & over. She wanted to look just like the girls in the book her 1st day and she did but then she was disappointed that all the other girls were wearing shorts during gymnastics. She loves reading this book though and even after camp finished she would project herself into it. She learned alot about what to expect at gymnastics camp overall from this item.

The photos are great and relate so well to my 5-year old great granddaughter. The text and photos are so illustrative and simple. Great set of books for a little wanna-be gymnast.

Gave the basics on what the first gymnastics class would be like.

So this is a DK beginning to read (1). It has a lot of words on the pages (4-6) sentences and many of the beginnig readers will have a hard time figuring out the words. Ready to read level one also has a lot of words per page and can overwhelm a beginning reader. I can read level 1 also is for more advanced kinder kids. There is a ready to read pre-level one and this is the perfect begining reader along with Step into Reading level 1 and Scholastic Reader level 1. Hope this helps.

My grands love books and gymnastics, so this was perfect!

This is for my 4 yr. old grandson, starting gymnastics, he is really thrilled with the pictures in this book. He does not read yet but enoys the book. His mom tells me it is a great true to life book.I would purchase again.

Great illustration of gymnastics for the young readers

It was given as a present and looked good for a 5 year old girl starting gymnastics. It is good for a new reader but for anyone slightly more advanced the next book is more suitable, which I had to buy for that reason. Nice book.

Good to read,useless if you want to use it as a learning kit.

ideal for little girls will love to read it

as a gymnastics coach who bought this for a poorly little girl who had enrolled but could not attend gymnastics classes i thought that this book would have some shapes that she could maybe memorise so that when she is better would not be so left behind...found it a bit disapointing
