Nero Platinum Unlimited – Multilingual in 24 languages – Version 2020

I'm a user of a previous version which I did not delete until after this new version was installed. There were no problems with the installation from the DVD, but be aware that it changes (updates) your existing saved NERO files and they can no longer be used with a previous version (you may wish to hide a copy of them elsewhere on your drive if you still want them). Of the options along the way, I chose NOT to participate in their improvement programme (came up on main software and data packs installation) and NOT to be notified of future updates. But the availabilty of updates is flagged up on the start menu in any case. You need to go to the control centre and run update if you install from a DVD as updates will have been produced since the DVD was made. Whilst there are some changes and additions since my previous 2017 version, they are NOT earth shattering. But if you have an older version than I had (probably pre 2014) then the investment may be worthwile.

Great software

Been using Nero for years (since 2011 I think) This is the 2021 version. it's great for inexperienced people to make a good looking video or slide show. One of the great features they added was the ability to add (buy) only the bits you want using the simple interface. It also has and advanced editing track but sadly this needs a lot of improvements to keep up with the times. Nero has (and still has) problems with large file sizes during editing. Any file size over 1GB it struggles to cope with. For example, I had a 1.2GB file that once in the time line looked fine until I wanted to cut out a section in the middle then the preview screen went black then flickered then the programe programe crashed! Tried the same file in Sony movie studio 15 and was cut and edited with ease. I was hoping by now 'the Nero people' would have fixed crucial things like this, in this day and age of large video file sizes. Another thing that has never been addressed is the terrible key framing, it is just painful to work with. On the whole for your 'use it now and again' burn something to CD or DVD it's fine. But for your more experienced person (which I wouldn't even say I am) it just doesn't give you what you need. Seems to me the Nero developers need to look at the features other editors can do (even some free editor's have better advantages) and work on adding them instead of adding things like an 'A.I photo tagger' and other bland things not a lot of people will use.

Great software suit, it's actually a two in one you get 2020/21 version, however when you license the software you also get the 2023 version aswell. You can switch between them if needed. All in all great software.

Secound review as 1st one wasnt allowed. Does not have built in blu ray player software, despite what answers i recieved on answer and question page. Also doesnt say doesnt play shop brought blu rays on page or website. Wouldnt download from disk, had to go through web site as error kept showing up.. And then its all to late to rerurn as put on computer. Deep dived and apparently the company stopped putting blu ray player software on there software since 2016. This will exsplain why my old software which is the same (2011) version has a blu ray player software option. Other than that, if you need burning software only, then perfect, but would of just used my old 2011 software on other laptop.

Arrived within a day. Easy to install, though didn't realise the supplied disk only contals the install mechanism which requires an Internet connection to actually download and install the product. However having said that, the install went without issue and the product works. As expected. As others have noted aspects such as the CD burn screens are still the original ones and have not been reskinned but that is reasonably minor compared to the functionality.

I Have used nero since nero 7 I still like nero no complaints at all perfect for burning discs and copying discs with two separate burners if goes faulty you can use use nero burning rom instead of nero express till you get time to reinstall it, very reliable software hope this helps. Michael

Berichtigung meiner Rezension von vorhin. Nero ist immer eine gute Wahl. Begleitet mich seit vielen Jahren. Bitte aufpassen. Diese Version ist von 2019. Trotzdem werden 2025er Versionen installiert Auf einem schnellen Rechner sind alle Aufgaben zügig erledigt. Bugs sind mir nicht bekannt. Spaß macht das Rippen von CD's auf MP3
