I’ve had the HOMCOM 72 L Recycling Sensor Bin in my kitchen for about a week now, and it’s exceeded expectations—especially considering it costs less than the Joseph Joseph equivalent. Despite a lower price point, it feels robust and reliable. The motion sensor lid opens swiftly when I approach, making daily use very convenient, and the button option is a helpful fallback when the sensor feels less responsive. What I really appreciate is the triple-compartment system. I’ve been able to sort recyclables separately from general waste without extra bins taking up space. The removable inner buckets are easy to lift out for emptying or cleaning, which has saved me time. I also like the fingerprint-resistant surface—it stays looking tidy even with frequent handling. In the first week, it hasn’t missed a beat: smooth lid movement, solid stability when loaded, and no plastic creaks or flimsy feeling. For what I paid, it’s been an outstanding performer. I’d say it punches above its weight and offers excellent value if you’re looking for a large, sensor-operated recycling bin.

This bin is much wider than any others allowing more items to go in. The 2 recycling bins at the bottom pull out on casters. So good to have a bin for just about everything. My only negative comment (and my own fault) is that when I walk past, the bin opens as my clothing touches it as its position is in a narrow area.other than that it’s the best bin I have ever had. Instructions say to clean with wet wipes. Great design and quality and a good size which prevents me emptying the bin frequently.

**Update Seller contacted me direct to sort this issue out, and apologised for the issues with making contact through Amazon. ** Would be ideal if it worked! Good size and looks the part, but sensor lid doesn't work. Unable to contact seller direct and end up directed to Amazon customer service who can't do anything otherthan refund, once returned. Advised the refund would take around 1 week, leaving me with no bin and no funds to replace it for a week. Im sure a non-sensor bin would be half the price of this. Very expensive price to pay when the main reason for purchasing was for the sensor top, which is broken.

Awesome size, works well and germ free operation with the auto opening.

If I could put 0 star,I would and Amazon will not help you if the warranty is short by a few days.DO NOT BUY! The sensor breaks and Homcom will not help!

Perfect sized bin, very sturdy and great price for this item my favourite part was the recycling bins underneath the main part of the bin.

I don't usually write reviews.. but seeing as this is a relatively big purchase, I thought I would recommend this bin. It looks great and the two separate bins at the bottom are really handy for recycling. I was worried about the sensor not working, but since I put the batteries in 4 months ago, it works perfectly. You hover your hand for it to open for 5 seconds and then it automatically closes, or you can press the 'open' button if you want it open for longer. It's easy to clean, and doesn't show any marks.

I love this bin great capacity and love the 2 bottom compartments, down side is during the summer flush got in and played eggs with turned to maggots all inside the electrics after removing loads of screws cleaning it out of maggots now lid don't work. Bin still usable just not automatic.
