These are pretty small, but a perfect size for an individual dessert, side dish, or casserole. We have a favorite casserole with layers of stuff, topped by a good size heap of panko crumbs and Parmesan, so we're really using about 125% capacity. Not maybe large enough for something that's "soupier" and won't stand up for itself, but these are great for certain uses, and the only dishes we could find that weren't TOO big for what we wanted. I love this, but it's not as heavy and thick as older Le Creuset. Still, it cooks beautifully and the lighter weight is helpful. I recommend it highly.

A few years back, my husband surprised me with my first piece of Le Creuset-a 6 3/4 qt dutch oven-and started a time of great fun, delight and experimentation with cooking. Now, I have become a collector of Le Creuset as it is impossible not to fall in love with. I believe that every piece is pure genius, and the the stoneware is no exception. The form is inviting, the handles decorative and extremely functional in that they are hollowed out underneath making them lighter and just the right nestling place for fingertips. These gratins are the perfect size for individual main dishes that come straight out of the oven, to the table, to the sink for super easy clean-up. Plus, they are NOT White, which is important to me and others who love color. They come in a full rainbow of choices, and the inside is a lovely pinkish bisque color. They are truly perfection, and I wouldn't mind getting the smaller ones for desserts too!! Worth every penny and every bit heirloom quality--start you're new love affair with cooking and get them!

This dish is so small, it looks way bigger in photos. It is smaller than my hand. Also be careful, the measurements they list is from handle to handle so the actual dish will maybe fit a few grapes in it. I tried to cancel the order (which they give the option to do so) shortly after ordering, days before it shipped and they still shipped it anyway. To return it, they charge you $5.99 to ship it back. I expected more from such a reputable company. Would not purchase from Le Creuset again. Very disappointed to pay $22 for a dish this small.

Love this item! The colour, the size, the use i get out of. Plus it got here earlier than expected so i used it for Thanksgiving which was great!! Only disappointing thing is that it’s ceramic and NOT cast iron and NOT made in France but Thailand. I guess i read too fast wished i would have had something made in cast iron instead.
