Taste and texture - Excellent
Great taste and texture, will buy again. Ok, all "kudo's" aside there's one thing about the recipe on the bag that I knew from other reviewers, it made a "moist and delicate", "yellow cake-like" cornbread if followed exactly. I followed the recipe exactly and the result was a "moist, delicate and almost yellow cake-like" cornbread even though I increased cooking time by 7+ minutes to adjust for my quirky oven. :) Note: I used a 9 inch Lodge cast iron skillet and have not try making muffins using this mix, not a big fan of them. I was pleased with the result knowing that a more firm cornbread might not result. Hint, let it cool 10-15 minutes before trying to remove slices, they will breakup <- experience. Second try, decreased milk to 3/4 cup to 1 cup mix and really pleased with results, still moist but more firmer to my cornbread liking. Still experimenting, that's why I'll buy more. Hope this helped.

It's Southern cornbread....
Easy to mix up and it baked well. I only have a 10 inch pan but it worked out well. My only issue was I didn't know it was Southern cornbread. As a Yankee, I eat Northern cornbread which is sweeter. I got around it by sprinkling a small amount of sugar on it while on my plate. Next time I will add some sugar to the mix.

Worth a try! Worth the price!
Directions not quite right. Use HALF the listed amount of milk/fluid. I made it with the instructed amount and it came out too "wet". If you like this fine. I like my cornbread a little dry. Also do not need the oil or sub with applesauce. Try mixing 1:1 with a cake mix. Comes out nice. This is higher quality than the cheap small store brand boxes and the major brand we all use. I never made it in skillet. Have made it as cupcakes, muffins, small cakes. All come out just great.

Dynamite meal for oven style cornbread
This is outstanding meal for oven style cornbread. No grainy texture when eating whatsoever. Very clean tasting and fine textured. Doesn't make great southern fried cornbread in the skillet though, they will turn out tasting just like pancakes.

Too salty!
Thought I'd try this after reading the positive reviews. It was easy but I'm unimpressed with the bland flavor and it's too salty. Also, I prefer a more textured consistency to my cornbread rather than the cake-like one of this product. Back to Alber's for me.

Don't waste your money...Product is not worth the price...
After reading some of the previous reviews, I decided to try the product. I won't make this mistake again. The product's recipes are crappy, to say the least. I even took one of the reviewer's ideas on adding a bit more sugar. The cornbread still turned out bland and tasteless. Even Smoke ham-hocks and Pinto beans could not help improve the taste of this product's result.

Great Taste, easy to prepare
I used a nine inch cast iron skillet and this turned out perfectly. We usually make a heavier corn bread and this was light and fluffy so a different texture but tasted great. Serve with butter and honey and you are all set

Light Fluffy and Easy
This is a wonderful cornbread. It is light fluffy and full of flavor. It is super easy to make. The price is a little high for the quantity (it makes 3-4 batches) but this would be a wonderful gift for someone who likes cornbread. Pretty packaging.
