Q: is this item made of silk?

I am a textile artist who uses fiber reactive dyes to dye silk scarves. I bought a few sets of these pillow cases to dye. I was so sad to see all the dye wash right off after painting and setting time. My usual silk scarves from a dyed brilliantly in the same dyeing vat. The pillowcases COMPLETELY AWAY, wasting my time and materials. Fiber reactive dyes will dye any natural material—from cotton, woo, and even viscose rayon (plant fibers spun through a chemical process.) that means that the pillowcases are not only not silk, they are not even a natura fiber, and are definitely polyester. Amazon needs to take this product down. It is fraud, the tags say 100% silk, which is fraudulent labeling.

I bought several. They claim to be special silk. They feel like polyester to my skin, and in the way they slide over each other like a hockey puck on ice. I've tried washing and washing them, but they stay slippery and slimy feeling like polyester.

Q: What is jiangue? is it man made fiber? i ordered silk and package says satin. no100% silk label or washing instructions?? it feels like polyester.

JiangJue is the brand. Silk is made from silkworms whose diet soley consists of mulberry leaves. Hence the mulberry silk mentioned in the description. Satin refers to the weave, (how the threads are put together) not the fabric. I received two silk pillow cases.

They are polyester. You can tell with a burn test.
