Purchased for a Database Management course. I'm halfway through the course and the book seems to have good examples and breakdowns of the concepts. There is a free link to access the databases mentioned and their corresponding files to make assignments easier to complete and make it easier to try the steps yourself.

This is an introductory database book, which is very clearly written and gives good examples. It could provide a good brush-up for experienced database people, and provides an excellent introduction for novices. It does not assume you have any prior database background.

Got the book as stated in the estimated time given. Was happy with the timeline. As to the content of the book, it is what we are using in our class so it covers everything so far. STill in the middle of the course. Good decision to rent!

The book is lovely. It makes learning the basics easy. I would highly recommend this book to anyone wanting to learn and it not be program specific (this book has examples in both MYSQL and ACCESS.

Digital books are super handy, but maybe not for this textbook. The real book isn't very big, but this one has page numbers in the thousands (muliple "pages" per page), which made it difficult to track where you were, especially when real page numbers are referenced in class. Also, the textbook doesn't really give good descriptions on how to do things - you have to depend on the graphics, which were also not very good. I tried expanding them, which would have been an awesome feature had the graphics been higher quality, but the graphics were of such poor quality that expanding them just made them blurry. That's a big disadvantage. I don't mind some digital textbooks, but this is definitely is not one of them. Should have bought the real thing.

This book went through concepts in a manner that I could understand with lots of helpful examples. It was a good textbook for my online database course.

I bought this for my databases class, but I find myself going back to it in the workplace! The writing is clean and to the point so its easy to look up what you need.
