Where has this been all my life?
This can converter is amazing. Easy to work with, although some of the metal edges are very sharp. You removed the existing light cover and lightbulb, screw in the pigtail, and attach this device into the can. I was able to hang a pendant light in place of an existing can light now without having to do any ceiling work or electrical work! This is a real winner!

Good but required some extra work
This converter kit works as advertised in that it attaches to an existing recessed light fixture and allows you to hang a heavy light or fan. In my case, it was a chandelier in the bathroom which was right over the tub. The can converter works well but I did not have three screw holes in the existing can but four. So that means only one screw hole lined up with the converter. The 'simple' solution in the instructions are to use the included self tapping screws and just put them into the sheet metal. If you've ever done that before you know it's not that easy, especially at an angle, while balancing on a ladder, trying to keep the screw from sliding around. So I had to pre-drill some holes for that which was the extra work. Not sure how to avoid that with the converter kit, just letting you know this did not install in "minutes" as advertised ... more like an hour or so. It's still a great product as I did not have access to the attic at this spot so this was my only option.

Great solution for converting a can fixture
The price seems on the high side, but it is well constructed with easy to follow instructions. Most importantly, the reducer to get the size down to normal fixture size is an attractive and sensible solution, worth paying for in my opinion having seen some pretty awful ones over the years. Installation is a little tricky but anytime you are working on something in the ceiling simple tasks get more complicated. Overall very happy with this product.

Easy Transformation But Pricey For Not Perfect Finish
Instructions could state to take the adjustable ends off after marking the holes and installing them separately to later install the 3 prong main section afterwards. That makes the install a lot easier plus higher quality self drilling screws would be a bonus. Price is considerably higher than Westinghouse's version, but WH doesn't work to keep the light centered for anything over 4" light, where this product does. So a 6" can replacement will keep the new pendant light centered. With the high price, over double of WH, the finish came with blemishes, specifically the inner ring had lines in the chrome finish that were not surface scratches and are noticeable, but a 10' ceiling high, only slight, but still, a disappointment.

Works great.
The end result works great, but it was a long journey. First, the wingnuts are for 6" cans only. If you have a 5" can like I did, they supply hex nuts which are a pain to get a wrench on to tighten. Second, make sure the supports of your can rest on the sheetrock itself. Do that before buying it. The can in question was part of a series of cans, so I had to run a separate line (and switches) to it, but that had nothing to do with the can converter itself. Just more work for me. AND WATCH THE YOUTUBE VIDEO! TWO OR THREE TIMES IF NECESSARY. In fact, watch it before buying.

The Can Converter does not fit right
The adjustments to the can were not even close. There needs to be more adjustments included. It should have been an easy installation, instead it took hours. The second one took half the time. I had to use washers to make them fit. I do think the engineer in charge needs to be horse wiped, and I'm being kind. I've installed lots of lights in my day, and this was the hardest.
