Would this work for an Applacian mountain dulcimer?

Though I am not certain and had to look up to see what a dulcimer even was. What I see and the little research I did I don’t see why it wouldn’t work. I love the tuner, it works great.

Will this work on an auto harp?

It should work fine, has a chromatic setting. The clip is tight enough to grip a tuning peg or perhaps a chord bar.

How wide does the clip open? Will it fit on a full-size violin without damage?

Don't know, but the uke is made in China so I would guess the tuner was as well.
