Color:Silver The mythos gem is a special kind of compact high performance loudspeaker. It demands special treatment, and the custom gemstand is the ultimate look and performance loudspeaker stand. The gemstand turns a pair of compact gems into tall, sleek tower-like loudspeakers. The hand-polished aircraft-grade aluminum is aerodynamically curved to complement the curve of the gem speaker, which fits exactly and snugly right onto the side of the gemstand's thick and stable tube, complete with hidden wire guide for a more professional installation. A heavy duty tempered glass base (same base as the mythos tower loudspeakers) keeps your gem installation super stable and energy efficient. Gemstand places the gems' Tweeters at your sitting-ear level. This ensures perfect mythos-level imaging and dynamic sound staging. Gemstands are like museum stands for your elegant compact gem loudspeakers.

Nice match, but I had to alter the stands a bit
I have a 7.2 Definitive Technology setup, consisting of 4 Mythos STS's, 1 Mythos Ten, 2 Gem Xl's and 2 Super cube References. I Recently made the purchases to go from a 7.2 to a 9.4 setup adding 2 more Gem XL's and 2 more Super cube References. I wanted to get some nice stands for my Gem XL's. Even though the stands are probably a better match for the Mythos Gems I figured I would give them a shot anyways. My only issue and it was a major issue, was that I use the Dayton Audio Speaker Cables with already made banana plugs for my entire setup. You can also find these speaker cables on Amazon. I have used a million different speaker wires in my life of all sizes and gauges since the early 90's and they have always sounded the same until I used the Dayton audio cables. The Dayton audio cables made me and friends hear things in music and movies that we have never heard before, vocals are much clearer bass is more full and the sound is even louder at the same exact volume. So I was pretty heated when I opened up the speaker stands when they arrived and there was less than an inch of space to put your speaker wires in the mythos speaker once they had been mounted. So I immediately went to home depot and bought a dremmel 4000 for around $90 and proceed to cut a 7x2 inch rectangular whole in the Back of the stands so my speaker cables would fit. It took around and 1/2 hours for all four of them and some very numb hands and my house smelling like the dentist office and viola!!!! they worked like a charm. Other than that it would have been nice if they would have had a hole in the back of the stand and if the base of the stand was slightly larger and heavier. Like I said before they are probably a better match for the Gems since they may be smaller. I do recommend them but if you use something other than plain old speaker wire you may want to look at the stands before you purchase them.

High-quality, beautiful!
I'm really happy with both these stands and the speakers that go with them. They are a bit awkward to put together which is a very minor nit-pick. The end quality of these stands is top-notch.You won't likely be able to fit a banana plug in the recessed area without putting undesired pressure on the cords (unless you have very short plugs). Just directly wire your surrounds. The post does a nice job of hiding the wire. The base comes with a choice of spikes or rubber feet to work with whatever flooring you have. They look very presentable. If you need a pair of mobile surrounds in this range, you're not likely to do better on a looks and sound combination. Well worth the money.

Gives My Gems A Sleek Look
Initially, I wasn't sure these stands would be a good value for me. After assembling them, and seeing them in my living room, I decided the price is fair for the quality. The construction is solid. The stand itself is powder coated aluminum, with a glass base. The only drawback I can think of at the moment, is that the height is non-adjustable. Other than that, I'm happy with the stands.

Small Base
For the weight of the speakers you'd think the base would be a little bigger to hold the speaker. The stand can easily tip over because it's heavy headed. Not worth the price

Very nice stand
Simple stands with the elegant look. They were very easy to assemble. I like how it gave you the option of using two different style base footing underneath the legs below the glass stand. Speaker wires can run up the stand and keep the clean look. This is a great option instead of wall mount if you don't want to drill holes and run wires In between walls.
