Amazing toy for the price, but extra drill bit is confusing
We bought this drill and tool set for my two year old son. His daddy has a drill just like it, which he's always been interested in, so this is PERFECT. He feels like he's helping out and is quite the handyman. Our set came with:- A battery powered drill (that has a button to reverse directions to drill in and out, just like the real thing)- Two drill bits- Three screws that work with one of the drill bits- A hammer- Three nails that work with the hammer (they can easily be pounded in and pulled out using the hammer)- A carrying case (that has six holes to fit the nails and screws, a compartment perfect for the drill, two drill bit holders, and another compartment for the hammer and anything else you want to add to the kit). The carrying case is great - and whenever my husband and son are fixing something I always catch my son sneaking some of daddy's tools into his own carrying case. He's officially taken ownership of a small leveler and tape measurer, which can also fit into this carrying case! The drill really works great and is easy for small hands to hold. The only negative about this product is the extra drill bit. It serves absolutely no purpose (unless we were supposed to get more screws that were compatible with it that just didn't come). It's great that the drill was designed to have interchangeable bits - like the real thing - but it's confusing to a two year old. He kept trying to switch the drill bit and screw in the provided screws and would get frustrated when it didn't work. I ended up just taking that extra drill bit out of the box when he wasn't playing with it - and he hasn't missed it! It would have been GREAT to have three additional screws that worked specifically for this bit, but regardless, it is still a great set and the price can't be beat!

Great toy, but limited use
My son loves pretending to build things and use screwdrivers (especially since he helps us replace batteries in all of his toys), so I thought I would get him this for his birthday. It's definitely made of a good quality that will hold up to repeated use, and it is relatively realisitic (drilling in two directions - out and in, nails "needing" to be hammered in instead of easily being pushed through, the claw end of the hammer fitting the nail heads well, etc), and the carry case is great to keep it all together. The pieces are large enough that it shouldn't be easy to lose the screws unless things are getting thrown everywhere (in which case, any toy of any size can go missing). My son definitely likes playing with this.I could only give this 4/5 stars though, mostly because I wish there were additional sets to buy to do more with this base set. Something like additional boards, screws, and nails you could buy with multiple hole placements so you could build boxes, or even just attach them randomly together. Three screws and three nails only give so much playtime. I also wish there were a top to it (to make it more like an enclosed box) so that it would be stackable and keep everything contained inside. For the price I got it, it was worth it to me, and I suspect that this would be an even better toy for places like a pre-K or Dr office because it holds up very well but has a limited use (kids will probably be amused for 10 minutes tops then move on to other toys).

a "real drill"
My 26 mo old nephew got this for Christmas. At first, he wasn't interested. Then I had him help me use a real drill to drill a hole, pound an anchor into the hole with a hammer and screw a screw into the anchor. Now he enjoys using his drill -- not just to screw in the three screws on the set, but to "repair" his train tracks and anything else he decides needs it. The drill has 2 bits, but the second one doesn't serve a purpose -- at least not in working with the pieces in the set. There are 3 screws to "drill" down or up and 3 nails to hammer. The hammer also has the piece to pull the nails out after pounding them down. The three screws and nails get old pretty quickly -- not much to do once you've screwed or pounded them a couple times, but the tools can be used in many other settings. It would have been nice to include a screwdriver and maybe some pieces to nail or screw together, but my nephew is now enjoying using his tools.

Boy Fun
This item arrived after Christmas which was disappointing. However, when my grandson received it he loved it. He appears to be a hands on learner. Great of tactile learners.

Great Toy for Toddlers!
My son received this for his 2nd birthday. He is turning 3 in two months and he still very frequently plays with this set! I love how there aren't a million pieces to get lost around the house - the 3 nails and 3 screws are plenty, and keep the kids well-occupied. I also love how everything fits nicely into the tool box and, of course, the drill is huge hit, especially since it looks very realistic and actually can make the screws move in and out of the tool box.I have found this toy to be popular with boys and girls alike (especially because of the drill). I have even seen my son's teenage babysitters playing around with this toy :)This tool set has also aided my son in his imagination. He loves the hammer and pretending to fix things around the house, especially to "help" his father with little odd jobs. I love it! A great gift!!!

GUARANTEED TO UNLOCK THE "FAVORITE UNCLE" ACHIEVEMENT
I ordered this set as a Christmas present for my 2-years old nephew: he simply loved it from the very first moment! He liked it so much, he learned to say "thank you" (or something very close) to show his appreciation. He liked it so much he wants to keep it by his bed to be able to find it when he wakes up - and this continues for two months now (for toddlers to be interested in the same toy, this is a very long time). He likes it so much my sister-in-law called to thank me again because withdrawing playing privileges suddenly got very effective with her unruly son. She still blames our gene-pool for the later thought (yeah, she is probably right). The material is durable, the design safe, the toddlers love the sound and function of the power-drill and they are taught to discern cross-sectional shapes and sizes. More importantly, it will keep them interested for a long time. As far as preschool toys go, this is a real winner.

Good piece of kiddies kit.
We bought this for our grandson's birthday, and right away he started playing with it, although he was using the drill as a gun !! but boys will be boys, very good for co-ordination etc.The only down side was, it could do with a little more tasks to do, over and above drilling, and hammering ? overall a good toy and sturdy.

Nice product
Keeps kid busy for few hrs. My nephew pretend as he is fixing some big problem with his own tool box. But he gets bored after sometime and plays with it once or twice in a week! But thats how kids are !

Make one in a carrying case! The recipient will love it together with her hard hat and high viz jacket!!
I was hoping to find a drill kit like the one my children had in the 19800 s, but sadly Fisher Price no longer

Good toy. Needs supervision
This toy is just as the product description. More screws could have been provided. For my v active two yr old, supervision is needed while he plays with it. Overall, my kid is happy with this toy. So am I.
