Great product for safety.
I bought this because we recently moved and the area we live in now has more of a walkable location. As a female I didn't feel safe (unfortunately) to be walking alone with my kids without some sort of self defense. I researched a lot of pepper sprays and products, but ultimately I chose Sabre. While there are cheaper sprays these ones have the best reviews for effectiveness and I think that is very true. I didn't try this on anyone or myself, but my test sprays were definitely plenty powerful and had good range. I feel that with this mace I will be okay in the event that I need to protect myself or my kids.I bought the home version that includes mace for in my home, as well as the keychain for travel. I haven't decided what the best place for it will be inside my house yet, but I think it'll be great for times when I am home alone and would like to know I have some safety and protection should I ever need it.This is a product I hope I never ever have to use on someone for any reason, but I am happy to have it in case I was forced to protect my family.

Delivered quickly and just want we wanted
After recently having a peeping tom on our 2nd story deck looking in on me at 1:30 a.m., my husband and I decided to get a few items for the house and for my person to protect me in the case that I were to be stalked or attacked. We also wanted an additional means of defense for our home, so this was the perfect combo. The larger can is a very good size and we mounted it just inside one of our closets for easy access in case we hear an intruder in the middle of the night. The key chain canister is the perfect size, and with the safety latch, I'm not worried about accidentally setting it off inside of my purse. Hopefully I will never have to use either one, but have additional peace of mind that we have these now. This combo set was a great price, was delivered quickly and definitely what I wanted. I will definitely order again in 5 years when these expire.

Sprays in a stream, to help avoid back spray
I have half a dozen pepper sprays in different places in our home, both by Police Magnum, and Sabre. I bought this "home and away" two-pack for our daughter when she left for college. We got an extra canister so she could practice out in our field and learn how the spray comes out and how to avoid getting in the mist.About a month ago, she called me to say that a girl from her dorm was raped in the parking lot at college. The girl had run for the campus security call button, but it was out of order (good grief!). I have to think that she could have put a stop to the situation if she'd had some pepper spray. My daughter assured me that she carries the small keychain spray with her at all times, and is ready to use it as she walks from her car to the dorm. The bigger container is in her dorm room in case she needs protection there.I'm very happy with this brand of pepper spray because it's 17% Oleoresin Capsicum, which is enough to disable bad guys long enough to escape. The small keychain canister sprays in a stream, which helps the user avoid being caught in a cloud of mist. The large canister comes out as a foam, which is nice for indoor use. When our other daughter leaves for college, we'll also equip her with this two-pack of Sabre pepper spray.

Sabre Red Max Strength Home & Away Pepper Spray combo
First things first, Sabre may be touted as one of the best OC sprays out there ("NYPD Carries Sabre"), but their labling & their web site suck! Neither will tell you what Sabre Red Maximum Strength means (what is the OC percentage?), & both are sparse on actual product details. That said, here's what I have: 1 package (part no. SRU-HAPK) containing 2 canisters of Maxiumum Strength Sabre Red - 1 is the 'Home' Red Pepper Foam labeled as a '70 gram' unit (only indicated on the canister) that has a glow-in-the-dark nozzle/trigger, & a surface-mount clip to hold the unit - 1 is an 'Away' key-chain container of unknown size that DOES NOT CONTAIN A POCKET CLIP on the side as indicated in the images (I think that Sabre changed the design), but does have the key rings with the quick-disconnect clip. The Sabre Red web site indicates that the SRU-HAPK kit contains a 2.5 oz. 'Home' container offering approximately 15 shots, & the 'Away' keychain container is .54 oz & offers up to 25 shots - I assume that a shot is 1 second of spray, but don't quote me on it.The 'Home' unit sprays a foam stream approximately 8-10 feet per my test & is a contact product that requires eye/nose contact to work. The slide lock on the spray trigger is easy to spin for use, in spite of a friction nipple to hold it in the safe position. However, it does seem to offer enough protection against accidental discharge for its intended use.The keychain 'Away' unit shoots a ballistic stream spray which dispenses in a squirt gun type stream, allowing for close-quarter use without the worry of blow-back (other than splatter). The keychain spray shoots at least 10-12 feet per my test, & this is a contact product as well. The slide lock on the spray trigger does catch on a small nipple which seems to hold the trigger in the safe position decently - I've carried it in my pocket for a month now & it stays put.I did not apply any of the product to myself to test its effectiveness, but you can view plenty of web videos of people testing it on themselves & others to give you an idea. Both canisters have expiration dates of at least 4 years in the future, which indicates that they are as fresh as can be (that's the life expectancy of Sabre Red products). My test sprays were about 1/2 second a piece, just enough to let me know what to expect if I should ever have to use them & I will test them about once a year to be sure they're still working. With an approxiamate 15-25 shots available from the respective containers, I feel that this will not compromise the product's ability to work when needed.
