Amazing Colour and effects
The media could not be loaded. This strip of LED lights is amazing. The LED's have a very bright maximum brightness and can display over 16 million colours so can be customised for any event be it a party, Christmas of ambient lighting. I'm currently using them as Christmas decorations but after all the decorations come down I will be using them for ambient lighting and having tested them for this use I can say the effect is amazing. I have them in my front window just now and people actually stop to watch them and have to drag their kids away. You will need a couple of extra things to make them work, a controller and a power supply. The LED's have a maximum current drain of 60mA and with 160 LED's in this strip you will need a 5 volt, 10 amp power supply and a controller PLEASE SEE BELOW COMMENT FOR THE 5V POWER SUPPLY.I am using an Arduinio Uno clone as the controller [Sintron] UNO R3 ATMEGA328P + USB Cable + Reference PDF Files for Arduino's IDE but if you don't have any experience with Arduino there are other controllers available with preset functions (there are even ones that you can control using an app on your Android or Iphone)A couple of important points to note - The strip runs off a stable 5v supply and if you use more than that you will blow the LED's To protect against power drops when the LED's are flashing it is best to use a 1000 micro farad electrolytic capacitor across the + and - of the LED supply. If using an Arduino, avoid damage to the LED when first switching on fit a 480 ohm resistor in line on the data line. This absorbs any surge on the data line when the lights are turned on.The help from Alitove on any technical issues has been exceptional so if you have a problem, email them and if you get the same response as me they will probably get back to you within a couple of hours.

Really bright and nicely bendy....
This LED tape is really quite impressive. I have played with WS2812B type LEDs before, but never this many of them in one chain. They work excellently, are as bright as I'd expected and work every bit as well as the more expensive branded types.I power them with a fairly substantial power supply as they do consume quite a lot of power when running at full brightness. These PSUs can be found quite cheaply from other on-line sources. Mine is rated for 10Amps which should be enough to run the whole chain at full brightness white, but my application doesn't call for this, so I could probably have gotten away with a slightly smaller PSU.They appear to be fully water-proof, the tape is housed in a very flexible clear plastic tube with solidly attached and sealed end-caps. I haven't had them out in the rain for long enough to be sure, but the seals appear sound and unlikely to leak. Time will tell. The tape comes with a number of clips to attach it to the surface of your choice and there's a short lead with a connector that mates with the data-in end of the tape.

Great colour change strip
Good quality product. Colour rendition is good and paired with the right controller would be great for light shows or automation. For the home market as fairy lights or feature lights these work well. It would be great to be able to program scenes or chases, but at the price of the controller I am expecting a lot. This strip is the standard indoor one encased in a rubber sleeve that is sealed around the wires at both ends, it should be waterproof but can't be cut to length without losing the waterproof. These do need a big 5v psu to drive them, the controller will power up and the strip burps with life with a small one, I used a 5v 4a power supply.Customer service was fantastic and delivery was next day as promised.

Works exactly as a WS2812B strip should!
The media could not be loaded. Very well packaged and works exactly as a WS2812B strip should do. I have other similar strips (albeit plain RGB ones) and these use the same silicone, rectangular tubing. The end caps appear to be reasonably well sealed however if this strip ends up outside I will more than likely add extra sealant just in case. Should any water get inside, it's never going to end well.Due to the amount of current that this strip can pull when all elements are on, I prefer to inject power at both ends as there can be a reasonable voltage drop across the length of the strip.I tested it with an ESP8266-based E1.31 (sACN) node and had no issues whatsoever with it (despite the 3.3V output from the ESP8266).

didn't work when arrived
UPDATE. Despite me cutting these strips up to test, Alitove contacted me to let me know they are sending a replacement! awesomeThese were the first neopixels I had bought so naturally there was a learning curve to overcome. I could not get them to work and assumed I had something wrong. After a while with much frustration I purchased a different brand and POW! they worked first time. These have some great reviews(I still haven't seen them working though) my suggestion is get a smaller less fault prone set first to start with so when you get Alitove ones (If you do) you will know straight away if you've been sent a duff set.
