I have successfully used this on a variety of surfaces, but my primary use is for my composite decks, and it works great for that. I have also tried a competing oxygen bleach product which is pretty good, but I believe that this product works better. This is the best thing I have found for cleaning composite decks. Best practice is to clean your composite deck twice per year proactively, so that mold doesn’t become established in the decking. However, if like most people (myself included) you incorrectly believed that composite decks are zero maintenance, you will soon find out that you have a mold problem in most locations. This product is the best way to remove or reduce the mold. By the way, don’t even think about using chlorine bleach on composites. Chlorine bleach based products work for some things, but they actually make mold problems worse over time.

I used this on several different outside surfaces that needed to be cleaned. It worked AMAZINGLY well on wood! The steps on my deck and the outside playset are both wood and the dirt and grime just started bubbling up right away. With a lot of elbow grease, those cleaned up beautifully. It also did a GREAT job on my aluminum siding. The product did an okay job on the composite decking, but it needed several coats, and it still needs to be cleaned at least one more time. The biggest disappointment was on my stone front porch. Due to the porous nature of the stone, this product didn't perform up to my expectations. I repeated the cleaning process 4 times on the stone. I did take off about 60% of the mold buildup, but this apparently isn't the product for textured stone. It did do a nice job on the cement surround however. Overall, I would give this product 4 stars. On certain materials it does a phenomenal job, but on other surfaces (listed on the bottle that it cleans) it did a less than stellar job. Also, we went through the entire bottle in one day of cleaning. If you have a LOT of outdoor cleaning to do, you may want to buy more than one bottle.

After using another product and spending loads of time scrubbing my bricks (after scraping with a scraper) I was hopeful the oxy-foaming cleaner that I had seen on a YouTube demo would get rid of the black mold on my antique bricks and stamped concrete. I followed the instructions carefully on the second use, heating the water, using a stronger concentration and mixing thoroughly and still it did not remove the black mold on my brick or stamped concrete (using a sprayer unit). I finally tried vinegar, which my girlfriend recommended and that worked! You have to scrub each brick individually while wet (pour it on) but it works. Also worked on the stamped concrete. This product worked ok on new brick, scrubbing each brick when it got slimy. A gallon of vinegar purchased from the Dollar Store got better results for me. To be fair, I did not mix it strong, pour it on brick by brick and scrub like the vinegar but that is not how its advertised to work. The vinegar did not work when sprayed on with the spray unit and maybe this product works better if poured on and scrubbed.

After high pressure washing, I still had algae, stains and mildew that needed a bit of work to get it off. Thompsons suggestion was great, with little brush I was able to clean porch to look it was just installed. Treated wood look clean. I let is dry and was ready to seal with advance water sealer and stain by Thompsons. Looks wonderful.

This really did not work well for my outdoor space. I have a painted outdoor wall with lots of dirt and stains etc and it really did not do much to get it clean.

I have a four year old Trek deck. I purchased this product hoping it would remove what appears to be oxidation (a light, white film that appeared only in areas exposed to direct sunlight). Although I followed the mfg's instructions the product didn't affect the oxidation at all. Plus, there was almost no foaming. In fairness, it might not be designed to remove oxidation.

I used the Oxyclean Deck Cleaner on a TimberTech composite deck. I sprayed the product on and cleaned as directed. I had some black mold spots over about 1/5 of my deck. I would call it a minor mold problem. I found that it took two applications to clear up all of the mold spots at normal concentration. That is with a good deal of hard scrubbing with a rigid bristle brush too. The formula doesn't seem to lift the material off of the boards as well as I expected. The instructions indicate that you can use a higher concentration for tougher problems, but I found that the normal concentration had a light bleaching affect on my brown colored deck boards, so I was affraid of increasing the concentration. Overall it did the job, but expect a lot of hard scrubbing.

Used to remove dark stain from log home. We used instead of bleaching and the dry corn cob method of cleaning was over priced. The logs came out great, it removed the blackened mildew and we let logs dry thoroughly before applying new restorative stain and sealant.
