Shopped them all.
I started doing some DJ work and decided I need better portability. After looking at Behringer, Fender, Samson and Yamaha, I decided that the Peavy Escort 3000 best suited my immediate needs. There are two different choices for this same unit. This is the newer version and the extra channels and features were important for my needs. That said, the price on the older model is tempting, assuming the sound quality is the same, which I cannot attest to. Sound and volume: You might need more for Carnegie Hall, but I suspect this will suit most people for a medium sized hall. The built in equalizer allows you to fine tune the sound of whatever kind of music you might play. Features: Love the thumb drive input, although finding a song quickly is a problem if you have a large number of songs on the drive. You can also quickly plug in a phone or tablet or laptop via the mini jack input, which is what I do. There is also an RCA phono jack for other stereo input needs. The main inputs are slick as they accept 1/4" plugs and 3 pin plugs typical in corded mics. Portability: It's not the lightest thing, but it has wheels, which makes it MUCH easier than lugging. And all your mics , cables and stands all fit into the unit. Speaker Stands: This unit comes with stands that pack into the unit. Although they are not the sturdiest or tallest, they are functional. If you are setting up on a solid surface, you will be fine. I don't know what to say about outdoors on grass. 5 Unit Stand: This unit does not have a stand. Most photos show the unit with a stand. I did not buy the optional stand since I normally use a table provided by the venue. But if you have an old keyboard (Casio, etc.), you might want to try the stand you had for that unit before buying one. Cables: The speaker cables for this unit are only 15 feet, so keep that in mind for your needs. The older model comes with 25 foot cables, so I don't know why an extra few feet of wire couldn't have been included with the new unit. The cost should not have been that much. Overall, I could not be happier with this unit. Your needs and wallet may have to opt for something else, but if you buy this Peavey, you won't be sorry!

Extremely satisfied!
We use our Peavy Escort 3000 for our mobile karaoke business, and we are thrilled! The portability is a primary factor for us, and with everything closing into a single "case", this is extremely important. The weight (approximately 50 lbs) is light enough for easy transport, even when it has to be carried and not using the wheels. With 6 standard input lines, as well as the 3.5mm and usb drive options, we have plenty of input for our singers and musicians. Sound quality is excellent, and volume is more than sufficient! We have only one small complaint, that there is not a dedicated monitor output, so we have to use a splitter to run a third speaker for our stage monitor. Additionally, we use 50 foot cables that we purchased separately, as the 25' lines did not offer enough distance for optimal speaker placement in our venues. That said, we still stand by our 5-star rating!

This is a great system for a small to medium size venue great ...
This is a great system for a small to medium size venue great power and simple set up - it defenetly needs to be coupled with one or two powered subs for the low end but I just engineered the sound for a 7 piece band and it handled everything I threw at it with enhanced vocals and digital effects -- I used this unit with 2 -18" powered subs and 10" powered monitors and the band thought I spent 5000.00 on the system that cost me less than 2000.00 all in -- I would recommend anyone to start here and add on as needed --great system .

Rating it as the audio guy that listened to it from others with this equipment
I've heard this unit during a performance among two guitar players a bass an a 6 string they had their own amps for guitar an used this for vocals really clean sounding an portible for the retired people using it. I wouldn't rate this as a "DJ" Rig though if you were to use it as such small venue 30 people wedding venues add a 18 inch sub pushing 1500 watts to fill in. You can probably pull off a 75- 100 person event but from a musician stand poit coffee shops, small corners in bars, street performance, small churches, this could help you a lot giving a presentation I'd say if your in a 20ft by 20ft room this will be over kill if you're looking at more of 50ish ft room this will be perfect i hope my review helps people on their decision on purchasing dont go with "we have it in the back yard blah blah ... lol

Great system! The one speaker had a little rattling in it and some small pieces of plastic fell out, but it still seemed to work ok.

Best Sound System I could find!
Best one I could find and it works great! Wonderful sound. It is NOT lightweight but with the added wheels and two special straps I can now handle it much better. I also have found that PEAVEY has been the BEST company to work with. Yes, I had a problem but they FIXED it promptly with no hassle or problems.

Great system, a few flaws, the main one? NO PHANTOM POWER
Its a great system, but they I should have realized that IT DOES NOT HAVE PHANTOM power....GRRRrrrr....I cannot use my supped up microphones nor the lit up ones. The so called "reverb" effects are NOT that great...but it does the job. I just wished I had read more on it. But if they come up with upgrade will check it out
