Great tasting coffee! My old drip machine finally bit the dust and I wanted something that I could clean completely. (Although I kept the drip machine clean, I always worried about what may be growing in the areas you can't see - like the tubing). I paired this purchase with an electric tea kettle to heat the water and an insulated carafe to keep the coffee hot for hours. Only issue is that you can't make a large amount of coffee at once. I keep it at about 4 cups, otherwise the coffee packs down too much at the bottom of the filter and stops draining. I also use paper filters to keep the clean-up easier. A little extra effort but so worth the taste.

I've looked at some reviews and noticed a wide range of experience with this brewer. Some say it takes forever to draw down and others say it gushes a gallon a minute. I've found that it comes down to how you grind your beans. It's something that you will have to fine-tune and experiment with yourself. If you have a blade grinder it's going to be hard to get a consistent grind. That's what I started with and I had the issue where my drawdown took forever. My beans were too fine. When I upgraded to a better grinder with more control I was able to produce a more consistent slightly coarser grind. With that, the draw-down time was much faster and I can brew a good amount of coffee in a couple of minutes. I got a 1zpresso JX manual grinder. My current setting is 25 clicks or 2.5 full rotations, (pass zero twice then set to 5). I'm really happy with the coffee I'm able to make with this. It's a great starter choice. I do wish the carafe would retain the heat better but you get what you pay for here. The glass is really thin and I could see it breaking easily. The accessories are also a nice addition as well. This is also awesome if you're trying to avoid plastic and reduce waste. If you’re having problems with this brewer it’s probably something you need to adjust.

I love being able to make coffee without plastics! The glass is not as thick as Pyrex glass…which if it were would make it a bit more durable. So, that being said, I have been careful not to knock it or break it. It does the job and the filter is fantastic…no need for paper filters.

Just tried it for the first time. I grind my own beans before I make my coffee. I found the taste to be pouts to my liking. Clean up is easy. So for me that is a plus.

I got this as a replacement carafe for the coffee machine I bought. The beautiful design and the metal filter that comes with the carafe is the best quality design I have ever used. I recommend using alkalized high in the pH level water for this metal filter. The coffee made with this filter tastes so clear and defined that regardless of the price of your coffee beans, this will elevate your coffee experience. Truly good stuff but you should be an intermediate or advanced coffee brewer, it deserves more attention and positive feedback, however, you just have to know what you are doing.
