An excellent purchase.
This is a steal. Buy it, you won't regret it.• The casing is very well made. No machining marks, nice polish and feel. No rattling. Extending and retracting is very smooth.• The scribe is a nice addition. It is very sharp, and the cap screws in place nicely, thanks to its knurled surface.• The pocket clip has the right amount of stiffness, and is very secure on the body. It is not removable though, from what I can tell.• The magnet is curiously strong for its size. Don't overestimate it, though. It's for light duty, like keys, screws etc. Don't get carried away. If you need it for something else, buy one with a stronger magnet.A tip for picking up heavier items, like a wrench: When picking it up, catch it with the magnet, and then position the magnet vertically to the ground, to reduce flex. Don't lift items as if it were a fishing rod, extended parallel to the ground. The shaft sections will bend if you keep abusing the tool.Overall, an excellent purchase.

Saved Me One Huge Plumbing Bill!
I dropped not one, but two long pairs of tweezers down my bathroom sink drain. I knew what I needed to get them out, but I wasn't sure such a tool existed. Amazon to the rescue! I imagined it should be about the size of a pen, and it was easy to locate once I made that realization. Next, I had to determine if the magnet would be strong enough to pick up the tweezers, and this one claims to puck up to 3 lbs. This magnet worked so quickly, which amazed me even more. No tool kit should be without one of these! Definitely worth every penny, especially with the built-in scribe for engraving.

Magnectic pocket clip telescoping with scribe
Really like this simple yet efficient magnetic tool extension pointer. Bought few of them so far for use in tabletop gaming. Nice sleek design yet decent, strong enough to pick up 2lbs with ease. Picks up most household small items (pens like, nails, screws, small tools like, jewelry, nuts and bolts, and such), the extension is very useful and helpful for those hard to reach places or high grounds. And yet clips on like a pen in your pocket or backpack. Great for home use, car use and office use and on the road/travel, have one for home and one for travel use.

This thing is pretty cool. I wish it were a little bit stiffer when extended, because it feels like it could break ( although it seems not to ). The magnet is powerful enough to pick up, say, a mid size padlock, but it feels flimsy when you have that much weight on it. I mostly use it for picking sockets and bolts out of engines. Real good for that. Great value.

The magnet strength is strong enough to pull the screws out of a hole about 1/2 inch deep.
The quality feels nice, but I didn't buy this for feelings. I restore retro consoles/handhelds from days of yore. I bought this hoping to get inside those deep holes which troublesome screws get stuck in. The tip, measuring .7 cm, is too large for that, however the magnet strength is strong enough to pull the screws out of a hole about 1/2 inch deep. So far its been doing what I need it to do.For those interested, the length is 16.3 cm when retracted and 67.6 cm when extended. The tip has a diameter of .7 cm and the pen weighs in at 34 grams, or about twice as heavy as a mechanical pencil.

Part of my EDC
I carry this with me at work and it seems like I'm using it almost every day. The arthritis in my knees has been acting up and this has been a lifesaver for me for when I drop a screw, washer, nut, wrench, socket or screwdriver. (Yes, I'm a klutz) The magnet is strong for it's size and has saved me from unnecessary bending over. Getting old sucks!! The pick up tool is a little longer than a standard pen and weighs about the same. Fits in my shirt pocket no problem. The scribe comes in handy for marking when I remember that it's there. Overall a great tool that I'm glad I bought.

but it is a nice strong magnet for the size
Wish the scribe was a replaceable tip, or carbide for that matter, but it is a nice strong magnet for the size

Every day carry, lasted 2.5 years
Wow it finaly broke, I thought for this price it would break a lot sooner. I purchased it November 2017 and it's currently July 2020. I carry it every day in my front shirt pocket as a machinest/welder and use it 3-4 times a week. It broke while pushing it back together, great magnet, alright scribe, I'll be purchasing 2 more just incase it happens again.
