Awesome grill
Read carefully! I am a daily griller--rain, sleet, snow, or shine--85% of our meals come from the flame. It's such a smart move and instant health benefit to our lives. Our previous portables kicked the bucket, I grew tired of the weak BTUs of other offerings, so I decided to invest in a premium portable grill this time around. SOOOO, don't hate my review, rather harness the facts and if you're in the market, look no further and buy it from Amazon today! PROs: -Huge grilling capacity for it's size -Fantastic lightweight build quality -Two independent burners, that's right... direct or indirect cooking! -Narrow high quality cast iron grates; you'll never again sacrifice a shrimp or sliced bell pepper -High BTU output that sears and cooks much more efficiently (effortlessly too) -Takes 20lb tank -Lights instantly, even in high winds -Enough internal clearance beneath the grates to add a smoke box CONs: -Short propane hose limits where/how you use/place your grill (Basically, the propane hose is about a meter long, so the options of where you place your tank is limited. We initially had the tank sitting at full extension next to the grill... it made strange hissing noises that scared the crap out of us. We decided to place the tank on the ground on a cinderblock and the hissing went away. Not a scientist, so can't tell you if gas flows better with gravity et al, but short of buying the $159 cart, which we don't need, this was the next best thing. The hose seams universal, so you may be able to change if necessary, just want to be 100% forthcoming on how we use it. Summary: By far the best portable grill money can buy. It's like the Mini Cooper of portable grills!!

This is by far the BEST small grill I have ever owned
This is by far the BEST small grill I have ever owned. We live in a condo in Chicago and did not have room for our full sized Weber Genesis, which we adored. couple of years ago we purchased the Cuisinart CGG-200 All-Foods table top grill here on Amazon based on the reviews. We are frequent users. We grill approximately 6X per week every week even in the winter breakfast, lunch and dinner. The Cuisinart is a single burner unit with many uneven spots on the cooking surface. Wind even affected cooking profoundly. We Had to rebuild the inside of the cooking box last year but our heavy use had cause permanent damage. The Napoleon PRO285-BK is the answer to our grilling dreams. The dual burners create an extremely hot cooking surface reaching over 600 in no time. We grilled 5 pounds of arrachera for a party on high on the right side and placed on the low side while grilling in batches. Best Yet! The grill is large enough for our thick (Dough-Joe® Pizza and Baking Stone 14.5" Round by 7/8" Thick) bought here and does an amazing job getting the crust crispy without burning. The enclosed “hard wired” hose and regulator are very short. We needed to purchase a longer hose. The (Gas One 60inches Parallel Low Pressure Propane CSA Certified Regulator and Hose Connection Kit for LP/LPG Most LP/LPG Gas Grill, Heater and Fire Pit T) If you go this route, take care to use two wrenches to tighten and loosen the original hose. The hold down bracket attached the the grill is not very sturdy. Starting the grill initially was tricky so beware, but once you are aware of how to do it, it is just like lighting your stove. It has worked flawlessly ever since. Wind has not been an issue. Our condo is on a “wind tunnel” street and the north west wind shoots right into the back of the grill. After reading reviews we decided to buy the grill and create a wind break, but this hasn’t been needed yet even on the windiest days. Although we have only used for 3 weeks we are convinced this was worth every penny and we enjoy it thoroughly. Truly, you get what you pay for and we feel we would and will do again when this grill goes to grill heaven some day,

Great for camping trips and home for quick grill
Took on my camping trip to Colorado Mountains. Worked great, perfect size for my family of 4. I also got the griddle piece and I definitely recommend it. Gets plenty hot. I used it at home for testing and it sets up quick. On the YouTube reviews it shows a separate adapter hose for a actual propane tank use. But mine came with a propane tank hose already attached. It is kinda short. Especially if you have the grill on a table and a tank on the ground but mine was just enough length to work. My only cons for me was it is kinda tall, so it took a little more room to pack it. But I guess that's for bigger stuff to grill and I wish the hatch would lock for transportation. But wasn't a deal killer. Overall I'm happy with the grill over our previous camping grilling owned.

Poor
0 stars. Grill heat only once got into sear range. Advertising states design works in wind. It does not. You open the cover to turn food and the burners blow out. Worthless product in my experience.

Great grill; but big SAFETY CONCERN
Most portable grills I've used have hot spots that will char part of your burger, hot dog, or steak; but not this one. Cast iron grates are designed to evenly distribute the heat from the dual burner system and the dual burners allow you to cook with indirect heat after you have your steak seared, something else hard to find in a portable grill. So why 3 STARS? There is a SAFETY CONCERN with the grill. We went camping and used the grill the first time over Memorial day. We attached the grill to the propane tank and it worked great for a couple of days; however, by the 3rd day we noticed that the plastic threaded collar that screws on to the propane tank was starting to crack at the rear. This ring is what holds the gas line in to the tank when tightened so that propane can flow through the line. The back ring had almost cracked 3/4 of the way around and the brass fitting was pushing the ring out so that propane was not flowing through the line. It took us a while to figure out why the grill wasn't lighting as we have never had one of the plastic threaded collars come apart on any grill we have had. If the plastic had only given out partially, I guess it could have allowed some propane to go through the line and some to escape into the air. Given the 1 meter length of the hose, the propane tank sits very close to an open flame if the grill was being partially supplied by the gas. Hopefully, the manufacturer has fixed this issue. I've posted pictures of the broken plastic retaining collar to this review.

Small but mighty. Napoleon!
It's not a huge grill, but it sure is a nice grill! My previous grill was actually older than me, some age old brand called "Turcolight". It was the most cantankerous fire pit on wheels that I've ever used, but it was pretty reliable and very sturdy. This portable Napoleon grill is just as big as my old grill, but about 400% easier to operate and is way more consistent. While some have mentioned the lighting process, it's pretty easy. Just be sure to push the knob in as you turn, that will activate the Jet-Fire lighting system. In all, it took about 5 minutes to go from box to lighting. The propane hose has a lovely tool-free quick release so it takes less than a minute to hook up. The cast iron grates are super heavy, they weigh as much as the grill, and are coated with enamel. I've had cast iron skillets with this coating, it's very durable, but it requires oiling and "seasoning" to keep the extra oil coating on it. First off, you have to oil the grates and let it cook for 15 minutes, then be sure to lightly oil them each time before you light the grill. They recommend using a brass wire brush instead of a steel brush as well. You can easily run this on a wooden picnic table or directly on the ground, but they say not to use it on plastic or painted surfaces. It's a great little grill and I highly recommend it. I also bought the cart and smoker tube which are both pretty nice as well. Smoker tube = 5 stars. Stand = 3.5 stars.

Reliable. Hot, even cooking.
Outstanding RV travel grill. Third one’s a charm. We hated the Blackstone built-in-tore it out for a Magma component grill that absolutely sucked. This one heats well, heats even and cooks like a great grill should. We’ve had a N-oleon grill at home for about 15 years now. I’ve read some. On-paints about service. No experience with this purchase but with our home grill, the flame tubes corroded after 9 years of heavy use. Napoleon honored its ten (10) year warranty and sent full replacements including the deflector bars. We lap have a Napoleon Firetable which needed a part, contacts the company and they made good pretty swiftly.

Excellent Grill
I hadn't heard of Napolean grills till a buddy at work told me about them. I took a chance and I love this little grill. We have a family of 4 and there is plenty of room to cook for our family and guests. I also bought the griddle and it has been a nice addition for pancakes and bacon.
