Silent Knight Pill Crusher Medication Pouches, Easy to Use, Pack of 50

These pull crusher bags are from the original manufacturer -- at a very, very good price! I purchased the Silent Knight pill crusher for my husband who is completely dependent on tube feeding. I crush pills for the entire week in 4 "batches" - morning, breakfast, lunch, dinner - and transfer the pulverized material to individual screw top jars with no content loss. I am able to use one bag for each weekly "batch" of the same type of pills. I was using a very fine stainless steel mortar and pestle prior to this to crush the pills, but the Silent Knight - though costly- really makes your life so much easier!! I will admit there is a bit of a learning curve to use the Silent Knight pill crusher most effectively. At first I pushed really hard on the handle, and scored the pill pouch with each pill (I crush about 5 at a time). After a few tries, I lightened up on my initial crush, and used more of a lighter touch on the grinding pushes as I moved the bag up. The contents were pulverized, and the bags did not score with the imprint of the initial pill push. Once you find the right touch for you, the pill pouches will last and perform well, and the contents pulverize with ease! The box contains 1000 bags which I figure will last me a very, very long time. This is an excellent buy.

My experience with these pouches has been problematic. I've found them to be often difficult to open to insert the Rx medication tabs. The pouches themselves also tend to 'stick' after initially crushing the medication in my 'Silent Night' hospital-grade pill crusher. This compression often creates an indentation in the pouch that ends up imprisoning some of the mashed medication which complicates emptying the pouch's contents. I had no trouble with the generic pouches provided by the hospital post-discharge. I will not be using these pouches beyond this pack of 100.

My daughter is fully disabled, she doesn’t take anything by mouth. She has a g-button that everything has to go through. She has a lot of medication and several only comes in pill form, these pouches make it extremely easy to crush her pills and to get the medicine into a syringe. Plus I put water into the pouch to make sure I get all the medication even the residue. I really love these pouches. The work so well with our silent night crusher.

Top notch pull crusher pouches that are superior to using a plastic pull crusher. Perfect for making med time easier for special needs children that cannot swallow pills. Also, for the child/tween that is between child dosage of medication and pill swallowing readiness. Pouches are thick and hold up to several uses if needed. My special needs child takes the same medication each evening, so it is a life saver when on vacation and you realize you didn’t pack extras. Great price point and value. I have so much overstock I’m set for 2 years from one purchase!

I purchased these bags to divide my daily meds AM and PM to make it easier to keep track of them. I've dropped or lost pills when I've used the traditional pill trays, so I wanted something more easy to control. They worked well once I arrived at my destination and were easily transferred to my hand or pill cup safely. The distractors were the slight difficulty of opening the pouches which got easier as I worked on 14 days worth of AM and PM pills. The main reason I didn't give them a 5-star rating is that I tried several different manners to close them by folding them over and putting a sticker on each one. However, the stickers didn't hold well. I went to the Medline website and no special stickers were noted. I finally used permanent address labels with scotch tape over it. However, as my trip entered the second week, even the scotch tape started releasing. The huge plus of these is that despite the time it took to load them, they took so much less space in my bag than a pill tray or, of course, the containers. I put AM and PM in separate baggies and they were so easy to manage and took up little room in my carry-on luggage. And they are very heavy and can be reused many times.
