Compact scanner/ printer works very well. It was a little difficult to connect to my home wi-fi but I persisted then in no time it was working like a charm. As with anything, the buttons are confusing as was the digital display. Just play with it and it’s very easy even for a senior that’s falling behind the progression of technology. I chose the Canon as it is a quality name and you don’t have to buy a subscription for refills of inks. I didn’t want to mess with that. The color and black/white cartridges that are easy to insert. I bought an extra set of print cartridges because they were a nice price and were suggested to fit my Canon printer/scanner. It is easy to insert paper. Nice purchase. Nice quality fir the price. You won’t be disappointed.

I utilize computers working in Microsoft Safe Mode, so encountered some challenges in the installation. It might have helped if I had remembered that an installation CD was included, but it wasn't mentioned in the installation instructions. In following the set-up procedures, I realized that I could not use the Canon website, as instructed, for the installation. Instead, I downloaded a suitable Canon printer app from the Microsoft store. However, I still needed to download drivers, so I did a Windows Update. Although I still got a message that the drivers were not detected, I tried a Test Page and, lo and behold, it worked perfectly. By the way, I prefer using the USB connection (rather than wireless), but a connector cable was not included. I had a cable on hand, so overcame that limitation. The rest of the set-up was fairly easy, including the print cartridges. Beyond that, my experience with the printer is limited, but the two-sided printing worked as expected and the quality of the print seems fine. It is quite a capable machine for a very modest price. So far, I'm happy with it.

Like others have said, this thing has been a pain in the butt since day 1. Consistently does NOT work. First off, you have to keep turning it on every time you want to print. I’m not sure how long it has to be idle before it turns itself off, but it’s a short time, something less than 24 hours because if you’re lucky to get it to print today, come tomorrow you will have to manually turn it on before trying to print. Then, it takes like 2 full LOUD minutes to be ready, it just keeps making noises for two minutes after turn on. Idk what it’s doing, why it’s so clunky and loud, or what. Then, whatever you’re trying to print, the device will say the printer is not on, or is busy, or can’t be found. After a few turn off, turn on, turn off, turn on, it will finally print. But then guess what? After about 10 prints ITS OUT OF INK ALREADY. It’s insane how fast this thing goes through ink??? I’ve had it for about 2 years, and i would guess I’ve printed about MAYBE 50 pieces of paper in that time (and i think that’s a generous estimate). I don’t print pictures, and hardly print color ever. And I’ve already spent the cost of the printer in ink cartridges alone. Oh, and don’t bother with the insurance because all they’ll do is say send it back to them and they’ll repair it and send it back to you. So you’ll need to find a box big enough, and find your own padding or packaging whatever you call it, and then you’ll have no printer while they “repair” this piece of junk to send back to you to deal with again. These aren’t repairs needed, this is a pos.

I install the printer and it works perfectly for me and it is as good as you would expect. The native input on the printer is people that have no experience with setting it up.

Mejor tecnología

The printer itself is flimsy. Thin plastic. The scans are good. The print quality is also good. I am satisfied with this printer, especially for such a reasonable price. I just wish it was more sturdy.
