A joy to type on, checks all the boxes
I love this keyboard. It's nice and compact with a low profile, easy to toss into the laptop bag and take on the road. The touch is nice and light, with well-sculptured key caps and a good amount of travel. The layout is very convenient, with the Home/End/PageUp/PageDown functions accessible as a vertical row at the right side of the keyboard without needing to use the Fn key. My only complaint is that the key legends are painted on and will likely wear off quickly; I can already see some fading after just a few days of use. If the key caps were double-shot molded, I would rate this keyboard as perfect.

Perfect for what I need -- get it back in stock!
I have been looking for a solution just like this, due to using Windows 8 tablets in a classroom setting, and running into major headaches with bluetooth keyboards (losing connection, having conflicts), as well as the fact that the tablets only have a single USB port. Decided to order one of these to try it out both as a keyboard and USB hub solution, and I am very pleased -- keyboard works well, seems durable enough, and -- despite some reviewers' complaints about how "tiny" it is -- it is actually a pretty good size (very close to full-size, although the keys and board itself are very flat.) Tried it out and both the keyboard and USB hub features work like a charm -- can finally have wired keyboard + mouse + USB headphones, all at the same time. Would love to order about 60 of these (30 at a minimum), but can't find them anywhere online! Why is it so hard to simply find a keyboard with USB hub built in??

small 60% form factor, but closer to 85% functionality
There are not a lot of keyboards available with this much legacy-key support in such a small package. It's helpful for me, dealing with some legacy software as my job requires, to still have Insert, pause/break, scroll lock and all 12 function keys available without having to use modifier keys to get to them. Nit picking: the "Fn" key in the lower left is awkwardly placed (it's where you are probably used to finding the windows key) and oddly implemented. There is a numeric keypad feature if you hold down the Fn key while using the 7890UIOPJKL;M,./ keys. I think that is the only real use it has. Fn+Delete uselessly produces a scroll lock event, the same as the scroll lock key which is already provided; Fn+Insert looks like it is supposed to activate num lock, but that doesn't actually work, although it does cause an indicator LED to light up. For all other keys, as far as I can tell, the Fn modifier does nothing; which is a shame, because although I appreciate having the top row function keys in their traditional roles, it would have been nice if Fn+[function keys] were mapped to some of the starndard multimedia controls. Still, I can live with the Fn issues. My use case is to interact with a Linux workstation connected to a large television across the room, using a USB extension cable. The keyboard provides a good combination of control and compactness, and being wired, doesn't have the range and latency issues I ran into when first trying a couple of flaky Logitech wireless units. The built in 2-port USB hub lets me plug in a standard mouse as well.

Good Quality at a Fair Price - RECOMMENDED!
I really like this keyboard! I was originally going to get a wireless keyboard. However, most of the best ones use bluetooth. I want this keyboard to use while working at home with my company laptop. Our IT department has the laptop pretty locked down - we can't load any drivers, programs, or bluetooth devices. Therefore, I had to look at wired keyboards. I have the laptop pushed back a ways on my desk. The extra keyboard allows me to maintain a good typing position rather than reaching over to the laptop keyboard. I only considered mini keyboards because of limited space on my desk. In past years, I have used various small keyboards. Some have been a huge disappointment, but not this Perixx 409H. It is very comfortable to type on with nice key reaction and a good feel. Even though it is small, it still has a full-size keyboard which is important to me as a touch-typist. This has been a great purchase. Totally RECOMMENDED!

My favorite compact 10-keyless Keyboard
This keyboard is your ride or die. I spent $400 on a reproduction of the original IBM model F keyboard in April. They’re all made to order and handmade so I probably won’t receive it for 1-2 years. Point is, this isn’t a fancy mechanical keyboard. If that’s what you’re looking for them skip this. But if you want something compact that’s affordable and works well for what it is then look no further. I’m 5’5” and have narrow shoulders. Shorter and smaller people will know the struggle of most office furniture and accessories being made for 6’2” men. So you run into ergonomic issues. This is the perfect length keyboard for ergonomic purposes. You run into not having the 10-key which is what allows it to be shorter. A full sized or even 75% keyboard with 10-key will cause shoulder strain from using the mouse on the right side. You have to stretch your arm and it’s uncomfortable. This eliminates that if you use your mouse on the right side. At my desk I use a full size keyboard because I do a lot of data entry. I taught myself to learn the mouse left handed so now I can put the mouse on the left and still have the 10-key eliminating shoulder strain. When I want to work elsewhere I used this keyboard and set it on my laptop lap pad and use the mouse and this keyboard on it with my laptop plugged into a tv monitor. Works perfectly. This is great for travel in that way. It has two USB ports so you can connect a mouse and even a separate 10-key to it if you want it. Works great. No complaints. Best out there for the price. I like the layout and that certain keys aren’t eliminated for space which can be a pain on compact keyboards. For example I like having separate function keys at the top. This one is a winner.

This product is a great little keyboard for a desk that's small, like mine. The reason I bought it is because I found myself typing off to the right, as my old number pad took up so much space on the right. I got rid of that issue, by purchasing this keyboard. The keys are quite easy to press which, as a court reporter, I find nice, because I'm not super fatigued while working on transcripts. I'm thrilled. I think you will be, too!

I never use the keypad on the long regular size keyboards so this small one is a great desk space saver. A repeat buy and highly recommended.
