OCTAPAD SPD-30 Digital Percussion Pad

I bought the Octapad after buying a Roland TD-17 V-drum set to augment the TD-17. The Octapad is super amazing with awesome and incredible samples and kits. It's fun to play on and has many great features, such as MIDI in/Out, jacks for adding other pads or foot triggers, mix-in to bring in audio from other sources such as an mp3 player. Also includes a usb jack for outgoing signal and slot for usb thumb drive for backup. I bought this at a lower price than it usually goes for, so the value for the money in my case was very good, and it features great functionality.

This is just what I needed to introduce more versatility into my drum parts in my song recordings. Finally realized that I didn’t need the larger e-drum kits that simulated placement of the individual drums, etc., like acoustic drums, and didn’t have room for even the smallest versions. I just need to make the sounds for recording, and this has them. Better reliability than cheaper ones, I expect. Recommend a bass pedal and a couple of trigger pads for the snare and high hat.

This is my first roland percussion pad and I'm not disappointed it sounds good I've had it for about 3 months it works great. 👍👍

The product works great and the drummer I bought it for is thoroughly thrilled with it. I took away a star because this is listed as a new item, it’s priced like all of the new Octa pads, and yet came in a box with the cords in a Ziploc. I would’ve thought I would’ve gotten some kind of a discount for a used product, I know when Scott opened it on Christmas He assumed I bought a used machine and yet I paid full price for it.

After trying just about every other drum controller on the market, this was the winner hands down. Didn’t even have read the manual and I navigated with ease through the menu. Drivers are also stable, unlike the others I’ve tried.

The playability and flexibility for live performance is very cool though the loop section needs upgrading. If I've got it figured right when looping you may create 3 parts with 3 different kits but after recording can only continue to play (not record) on one of the 3 kits used. Would be nice if after laying the loop in 3 parts you could access any kit to play along with the loop. Materials...I'm unhappy with the build quality. 5 days after purchasing and playing the unit for perhaps 10 hours, 2 of the pad surfaces began to bubble up. I promptly returned/exchanged the unit and 3 days later it happened again to 1 pad. What's more is after a gentle wipe with moist paper towel to the control area it left behind surface scratches. I handle and care for equipment very well and don't usually gripe about little things but after the pad issues I think it fair game. Especially considering the price point. I must give huge credit to the store manager for outstanding assistance for the willingness to sort the pad issue.

Really enjoy the high quality product, good job roland and the amount of sound in it. I'am still learning to incorporate it to my drum/percussion set.

bien que c'est une super machine ! les sons sont un peu démodé dommage que nous puissions pas les upgrades ! j'aurais du opté pour le plus récent c'est à dire ( roland spd sx) pour ce qui est des pads bon rebondissement super isolation
