Repertoire reissue of 1977 album from the Arkansas-born blues rocker. Packaged in a digipak. 2005. Review: A nice surprise - This was an introduction to Roy Buchanan for me. I'd heard that he was great and I'd heard a couple of songs of his on the radio over a long stretch of time but didn't really know his music, which seemed like something to rectify for a blues lover like me. I was not at all disappointed and this has become a regular feature in my sizable list of regularly played CDs. Review: Roy Buchanan : Loading Zone - Loading Zone was one of the first Albums I bought on Vinyl back in the early 80's released in 1977 and still one of my favorites by R Buchanan playing some of he's best studio guitar a Well Recorded Album with some of the worlds best jazz rock blues fusion musicians of the day like guitarist Steve Cropper - Raymond Gomes (Rhythm Guitar) - Narada Michael Walden (Brums) - Jan Hammer (Piano) - Stanley Clarke (Bass & Producer) playing 9 tracks : The Heat of The Battle - Hidden - The Circle - Adventures of Brer Rabbit and Tar Baby - Ramon's Blues - Green Onions - Judy - Done Your Daddy Dirty - Your Love , This 2005 CD according to the released date sounds even better and would have to class this Album as one of the best and favorites .

Love the instrumentals; not so much the vocal numbers...
Hot guitar and bass playing on the instrumentals. The vocals I could live without. Roy lights it up well on this CD. JNL

from the man on the floor...
I am replacing my Roy collection on vinyl with CD's - and glad to see I can! "I was there" back when and saw them all, Mr. B was a rare treat in the age of banker guitarists. What that man could do on a Telecaster and little (twin reverb?) amp still defies belief, partly because of his r/h style, part because his l/h style. The fact that he did it standing there not breaking a sweat, a cig stuck up near the nut... smokin'... This is an American Master, and deserves to be heard by anyone wanting to understand the 'top shelf' technique scene at the time, or any other time. If you just love amazing guitar work => that too. This album showcases the incredible depth of Roy's technique - from "The Adventures of"... to "Heat of the Battle"... the "Hidden" to ... 'Blues'. Never one to shine the light on himself, and nealry obscure becaues of it - this particluar album is a great introduction to the most talented Amercan guitarist you never heard of. Maybe a bit "commersh" compared to other of his albums but the Telecaster axework as always is unparalleled and original.

Guitarist!
This recording will last. Have heard or read that Mr Buchanan's last records were ones where he was making and recording just how he wanted to, with the circumstances he preferred. i have several of his recordings, but I keep coming back to this record. As with other albums e.g, 'A Street Called Strait', and 'Livestock' he has excellent musicians along with him, but this has some funk beating with his electric blues guitar sound, and this is how it stands out for me. Seem to feel like you know a little about Roy Buchanan, looking at the album's cover - it was all about how he played.

A PESAR DE LOS COMENTARIOS QUE SUSCITARON ESTE DISCO Y OTROS DE LA MISMA ÉPOCA, CREO QUE ROY BUCHANAN ABRIÓ UN POCO LA MANO ( LITERALMENTE ) Y DE DEJÓ DE PURISMOS CANSINOS. EXCELENTE TRABAJO, SOBRE TODO PARA EL MOMENTO EN QUE LO HIZO. ABSOLUTAMENTE RECOMENDABLE.

I had this on vinyl, yon rubbery stuff we all thought so much of in the sixties and is now enjoying a collectors revival, but mainly sits gathering dust in op shops across the land. But digressing, this was then and is now, good. Brimful of good tracks. A passable, warming up the strings of the guitar version of 'Green Onions'. Some soulful, stretching out guitar countering blues and enough white noise to remind you that he was one of the few guitarists to occupy the sphere Mr Hendrix started from. Highly recommended.
