This is not Japanese sansho pepper.

Very excited for price, very let down to know it wasn't as advertised.

Received these today, and to be clear, they are not Japanese green peppercorns (which come from the prickly ash, Zanthoxylum piperitum). They're normal green peppercorns; that is, dried, unripened fruit of the Piper nigrum vine, the same fruit that is used to make black pepper.They seem to have decent flavor for dried green peppercorns... but they are not what they are advertised as (sansho peppercorns).

Do not buy these if you are looking for Japanese Sansho Peppercorns. These are regular peppercorns
