I love these brushes! The larger round ones are great for laying on chalk paint as they pick up a lot of paint. I do tend to favor my smaller angled Wooster brushes though as details, corners, angles, and blending are easier and the softer bristles are better for avoiding brush strokes. So, for paint, the natural bristle large rounds are great for the base coat, for me anyway. These (all of them) have become my go to for applying various waxes. I find applying wax with a brush easier, less messy and in general, less awkward. These have been amazing! The larger rounds help me blend the waxes into one another. They are not the easiest to clean: paint, oil based or water based waxes. I have to be patient running the brush comb through these as they are thick and they dry coarsely after a few uses. I soak them in a little fabric softener and water and they are good as new. These brushes are an AMAZING value for the price. Most other brushes cost as much as this set for a single one. Love love love these! Highly recommend to anyone who chalk paints &/or uses finishing wax. UPDATE: Cleaning them ... I’ve since found Murphy’s Oil Soap for natural bristle brushes. Does a great job cleaning them and leaves them soft.

BEST CHALK PAINT BRUSHES FOR YOUR MONEY!! I bought these a few months ago and decided to wait until I’ve used them extensively to review. This is my review... After extensive research before investing in chalk paint specific brushes I found these. STOP BROWSING THESE ARE PERFECT! They have MINIMAL shedding. Even when I did the pulling and washing in the beginning little to no hairs came out, I don’t even think I’ve had to pick a single bristle out of any of my work and I’ve had these for several months now. They are very ergonomic and easy to handle for hours of painting. They paint without ANY brush strokes and really are able to stretch your paint so you get the most out of your vastly overpriced chalk paint.(lol) They are extremely easy to clean and care for. (Every 4-5 uses/cleans I use a tiny bit of my conditioner and rinse them thuroughly and they are in perfect shape since the day I bought them. The small leather strap on the ends is perfect for hanging them (keeps their shape always hang them) The brush variety is perfect for a beginner or novice as well as for a pro. They provide detailed instructions on care and handling. Packed extremely well and shipped quickly. SO MANY brushes for the price and this set would be worth much more. Comparable to the Annie Sloan brand brushes I actually think they are better. WAYYY better AND cheaper than the Walmart brushes! No comparison. PERFECT STARTER SET! EVERY BRUSH YOU NEED. I will always recommend them and their brushes.

I'm new to chalk painting and am working on my first project now. I bought another set here on Amazon that had 3 brushes, soap, etc and paid about as much as I paid for this set. I started my project with the other set; preped them, conditioned, etc as directed prior to use. Now, I will say that the first part of my project that I used the other brush for had a lot of texture so I had to use the brush to blot the paint on. The brush from that set is now basically TRASH! I could not get the paint out of that brush to save my life, even using the special soap they provide. I had to soak it in mineral spirits (even though they say not to clean natural brushes in mineral spirits) because that paint was NOT coming out. Thankfully, just as I was finishing that part, this set arrived! I got them out and prepped them as I had the others while my paint dried then applied my next coat with this set. Oh my goodness, the difference was night and day! These brushes are so much softer! The other set was firm and felt more like stencil brushes. This set was pliable but firm enough to hold paint well. Minimal hair loss compared to the other brush, but I was using a blotching/pressing technique so maybe not a fair comparison. But cleanup; this set blows doors on the other set! So easy to clean! I did play it safe and wash this brush each time I had to pour new paint as to prevent paint from getting too far up the brush, but these are so easy to wash out that even with this extra rinsing the total cleaning time was a fraction of cleaning the other brush! As I said I'm new to chalk painting so can't compare these to the name brand/high end brushes, but I would not hesitate to recommend these brushes to a friend or to buy them again!

These brushes are great and so far have not left any hairs behind in my projects. They're very well made and at a great price. My only complaint is that they're not the most comfortable to hold. The smaller brushes are perfectly fine but if you're doing a big project expect the 2 big brushes to start hurting your fingers after a while not only because it's a wood handle but because they actually are pretty heavy (which is a good thing) but if only the handle was a bit more comfortable would this be a perfect buy. I still think it's a great deal and you cant beat the price so in the end I dont really mind dealing with a slightly uncomfortable handle. And maybe after several uses it's something I'll get used to!

I am in the process of chalk painting a french provincial style console. I'm so impressed with these brushes. They make it so easy! The sizes are great, the paint glides well across the piece and there are no loose bristles in my paint. Great value for the price and easy clean up. I'm so glad I purchased them. Thank you for this great product!

Ordered these for my first chalk painting project (two small antique furniture pieces.). These brushes are great! I compared them against the brushes at the local big box hardware store and they were much better quality in terms of bristles and handles, and much less expensive. It helped to have 3 different size brushes for working flat surfaces and around corners and legs. My first chalk paint project turned out great! I cleaned my brushes well when I was finished and they are ready to use again for my next project! Highly recommend these brushes.

Great brushes for chalk paint. Excellent quality. Did not fall apart. Also you get 5 which we didn't even use all of them but best price I found for chalk paint brushes. Vs. 35$ at the store for one!
