Crushing YouTube: How to Start a YouTube Channel, Launch Your YouTube Business and Make Money

During the holidays I randomly brought 2 books about YouTube as I was wanting to do better with my YouTube channel. The other book was written by more well known creators, but I have to say this book was much better. I don't know anything about Joseph Hogue, and I don't think I'm his target market for is YouTube channel, but I like how he has put this book together. It puts things into a logical order and has great ideas and tips for people with brand new channels, or people looking to create better content. I took a bunch of notes while reading it, have referred back to it many times and have implemented a lot of the ideas contained within the book. I'm glad I purchased this, and feel it is a good book to get. So much so I thought I better leave a review for it.

This was the best book that I have read on how to start a YouTube channel and be successful. It is very detailed and all of the information is valuable. This book is a must for anyone starting their channel or anyone in need of revamping their YouTube channel. This is the second book that I have read by Joseph Hogue and he doesn't disappoint. I have also recently enrolled in the course that goes along with the book and even though I'm not that far into the course, it seems to be a gem as well.

I've read 4 different Youtube algorithm/tips books. This book was about the middle-ground. I see this book compared to Youtube Secrets a lot, and I would have to give this one the point despite its flaws. Youtube Secrets is great for fundamentals, but Crushing Youtube expands upon the information in Youtube Secrets and offers more usefulness for your time imo. Crushing Youtube is laid out a bit messier and has some problems with graphics compared to Youtube Secrets, but I'd still recommend this book. I'd also recommend Youtube Channels for Dummies (2nd edition) for the most recent Youtube information regarding metadata and Youtube policies. Also, it includes its own separate chapter on Copyright/Fair Use which I found to be very helpful in understanding the temperamental nature of making modern Youtube content. This book and Dummies would be the best combination imo. Pros: +Lots of detail +Lots of recommendations for equipment and software. (A few are outdated, but are still good starting points. Go for what you think best fits your needs in the end, however). +Great for understanding metadata and importance of channel features. Cons: -Somewhat deconstructed flow of writing like others said. -Graphics/links can display wrong or blurry. Around a handful of spelling errors. -A bit outdated (2019 vs 2021 Youtube).

The reviews about editing errors and the focus on making money are valid, but pay attention to them at your own peril. This book is FAR from fluff and there are so many practical and advanced tips that I haven’t seen in any other YouTube-related books. This book is about how to make money through maximizing your channel and your brand. If you don’t want to grow and achieve more, or if you hate making money for the hours you invest into your craft, then read the bad comments, justify your decision to stay stuck, and continue to let game-changing opportunities pass you by. If you’re ready to try something new, level up your ability to manage a business and grow your income, this book is for you. Too bad there’s no Affiliate Program for promoting the book, though ;)

I already have a successful blog and podcast, but I want to now build a YouTube channel. This book is the perfect companion to guide me. I really like the specific and practical advice about how to research and analyze your video topics before making a video. This tip alone made the book well worth the purchase. And I also like that the author is in the trenches doing all of this very recently. That gives me confidence that I can apply it too.

Dont waste your money...... This book’s title is a clickbait and primer for selling his tutorial course first off. Next, there’s no mention in description that this book is apparently print from his computer advice with several links. The links go nowhere of course when used in the book and it detracts or causes loss of subject focus. Finally, it does not read well like an informative book should. If you like cut up random thoughts on the Utube process in setup and startup, then its for you. Overall, I do not recommend buying because this supposed book does not read well at all. Definitely just a Utuber and not an Author. Im returning.....

I have been following Joseph Hogue's progress for years. He is one of the financial influencers I follow. I'm so glad he finally wrote a book about how to create and grow a youtube channel. I wish I had this information when I started my youtube channel. It would have saved me months of fumbling around trying to figure it out. It is so much simpler than I thought to create and monetize my channel.

This book is a solid guide for anyone looking to dive into the world of YouTube. It covers everything from starting a channel to monetizing it effectively. The advice is practical and well-organized, making it easy to follow. If you're serious about building a YouTube presence, this is a great resource

This is just a basic information book. Beginners should read this book. But for professional or who those have basic knowledge already they don’t need this.
