To be clear, I have only had this a little over a week, so a review may be premature, but here's the scoop so far. It seems to be really durable, but you need to unscrew the ball in half for charging and I have real problems with the threading of the two parts. It mostly cross-threads until I get it nearly tight and then pops into place. I have no idea how this will hold up over time. One cat won't stay in the same room with it, the other is fascinated for long periods. It moves fast and in random directions, so it appears to have a mind of its own, and Lily is not happy when it runs toward her. She does not leave though,, but keeps watching it from a safe distance. I am captivated by it, however. It rolls and crashes into whatever obstacle and backs its self out of tight jams. Not always, I find that I have to rescue it from carpets and low edges on furniture and such. It is not strong on pile carpets, but zips right along on tile, wood or low-nap carpets like indoor-outdoor. Battery holds up as advertised, have not timed it, but it goes for longer than Lily is interested. She will warm to it over time and interact more. I leave it on the floor when not turned on so they can examine it and get used to it. Overall, I'm happy.

My cat loves this ball. She can even turn it on and off by herself (I'm not sure if she does it intentionally though). I wish it could turn itself off once she gets bored of it, but it's not a big deal to go find it and turn it off. I actually gave it a tail (bit of string I have knotted on the inside) for more engagement. I have noticed that the battery is failing a bit, especially as it gets low. The light will be on but it won't roll on its own. It's usually fine after being recharged, but it is happening more often now.

It's OK, but it's loud, and it gets stuck a little bit so you have to watch it. I wish it had a timer so I could turn it on and then forget about it and let it go for 5 minutes. Since it's noisy rolling about on the hard floor, it's annoying. It has a little trouble sometimes on carpet or rugs and will spin in place unless you give it a little nudge. My cat is not really interested in it beyond that it is noisy. She went to catch it but since it rolls randomly it would sometimes roll into her and not away from her and she quickly lost interest in such dumb prey. Plus there are no squishy parts she can sink her claws into or try to hang onto, and nothing really to bite at. So mostly she just lays down and watches it. Every once in a while if it turns a corner out of eyesight, she might take a couple steps and look at it, and if it's rolling around in the same general area she will walk away, and if it moves to a new general area she will go look at it again, and wander away. She loves chasing hand-thrown balls and little bouncy balls and the foamy irregular-shaped balls. She will play with those on her own. But this one does nothing for her. She is 2.

This was exactly what we needed! Our kitten is 4.5 months old and very active. As soon as she wakes up, it's playtime, and playtime can last for hours. Lately, we are lucky if she sleeps 16 hrs a day. She will usually play by herself for maybe 2 hours total throughout the day. As soon as I put the ball on the floor, she was all over it! She's been stalking, hunting, pouncing and running all over the house for the past hour without us having to run around playing with her! At first I was a little disappointed because the ball did not move fast, however, that disappointment vanished as soon as I noticed how captivated and entertained she was by the ball. Since she has always needed our attention during playtime, just going to the grocery store for an hour or 2 has made us feel guilty for leaving her alone while she's awake (she always wake up when we are getting ready to leave). Now, we may actually get an opportunity to go out without the guilt trip! This was definitely the best cat toy we've ever gotten her! It was worth every penny!

My 4-month-old kitten loves this toy and so do I... I like it because it keeps him occupied while I am trying to relax and I do get a kick out of him pouncing and playing with the electronic ball. The ball goes under our bed and with the light on it, the cat follows the ball and they both come out the other side. It's really the best toy for my cat because he doesn't seem to get tired of it. Even when the ball has run out of power, he still likes playing with it, like it alive or something. It charges quickly with the USB cable that is provided, and it seems to operate for a long time while the in motion. It works best on a solid floor, but it does well on a low pile carpet as well. If you have dense high pile carpeting, it doesn't seem to move as quickly, but the cat still has fun with hit. I highly recommend this product and so does my cat... It gets a paws up in our opinion.

I got this for my hyper active kittens for Christmas. I let them open their presents early last night because they were being super duper cute and I couldn't say no when they were asking to shred the wrapping paper so politely. Anyway my kittens love this thing. They've only gotten to play with it for one night but the youngest kitten who has boundless energy especially at night fell asleep in the middle of the floor after chasing it for 30-45 minutes straight, and she slept through the whole night. She wore herself out doing kitten parkour off the walls to "chase" it but also jump out of the way so she wound't actually touch it. First thing this morning when I woke up she was yelling at me to turn on the spinning ball again. Normally it takes her 4-5 hours in the middle of the night doing laps across our 1 bedroom apartment to wear her out for a couple hour nap, this toy did the trick in 30-45 minutes and the results were way longer lasting. I can't say anything about the durability and quality of it since we've only used it for about an hour so far, but from what we can tell it will be a great toy to wear her out when I need a good nights sleep.

It keeps the cats active … very good gadget /toy

My cats love this toy. They follow it around the house, keeping them busy until I turn it off. It doesn't turn off after 15 mins it keeps going until I turn it off and I like this because my cats like to play longer than 15 mins. I start them off with a 15-minute toy and when that runs out, I start up another 15-minute toy and then onto the self-rotating ball. It does what it says, it goes under furniture and turns itself around and pops out again. I put it on charge before I go to bed and it's ready to go again. I use these toys in the morning and again in the night about 1 hour before I go to bed, so they sleep all night and so do I—worth every cent.
