Slim Jim Smoked Snack Sticks, Original,28-Oz Total (Pack of 100)

I read all the reviews before ordering these...yes, ALL the reviews.Qualities like texture, which I had never considered before, were discussed extensively. They gave me pause.However, I'm really pleased with the product, which was neither too leathery nor too soft, neither too few nor including empty packets. They are not as large as the retail sizes, but they provide one with the power of portion control. One can always decide to eat three. One can get more exercise if one forces ones self to get up for each individual piece.I believe that the sticks which are "too soft" are simply not cooked enough. That is my experience with cooking actual sausages, like Little Smokies. So if you are one of those unfortunate souls who ended up with a box of mushy Slim Jims, before you throw them out or give them to the raccoons, try unwrapping a few and putting them in a toaster oven (or oven) for a little while on a low setting. It may work for you, and it is better than being besieged by hopeful raccoons for the rest of your life. Freecycle could also work. Maybe there could be local exchanges for Amazon customers with these challenges?If you are one of the wretched unfortunates who has received the harder, leatherier sort, well ...you could ship them to me. Or donate to a food bank, or even drop them by the office or workplace of people you especially like. Many people give the vet staff or the book store team cookies...you can be the Slim Jim HERO. All the low-carb folks will sing your praises. Everyone in the office will be marginally less cranky. You could send them through the tubes at the bank drive through. IMAGINE the joy you could spread....Since I am happy with my lot, I don't get to do any of that. This time.

I decided to go with the box of 100 tiny sticks of Slim Jims after wanting to get my beef jerky craving satisfied. I almost purchased some of the Old Wisconsin beef sticks but was not happy that they didn't offer a reasonably priced bulk amount of their sticks INDIVIDUALLY WRAPPED. Yes this is an important thing for those of us who want to stash a few of these in our desk when we need to kill a craving.Slim Jim's are not the best beef jerkey on the market and we all can accept that they are processed backwards and forwards and are chock full of all kinds of bad-for-you chemicals such as MSG but they are darn tasty. Also for the price of about $25 bucks USD you get 100 of these tiny little .28 ounce sticks. I guess you could get 3 reasonable chewy bites out of each stick.These aren't healthy and they do not qualify as beef jerkey but they are tasty and they are a great appetite killer in a pinch. No idea what the artifical casing of Slim Jims are made of but they are chewy. They are salty and delicious.I would recommend this product to anyone out there who wants to get a LOT of little tiny snacks that they don't have to bother with throwing in the fridge.Also, I went through all of them in my package and I did recieve 100 sticks and from the appearances no mold. I'm not sure how long my stash will last but I will probably be ordering more.Its too bad an all-beef product like Old Wisconsin doesn't offer a reasonable bulk price on single wrapped sticks, I'd LOVE to buy a bunch of those.Jugglerp.s. My order arrived very fast.

I don't know how many of these I have purchased in the past. One thing for sure, I'd be purchasing more in the future.

Ever since the death of Randy Savage, there was only one thing in mind, I must snap into slim jim. So i bought an additional 4 cases.Below the line is previous review at 3 stars____________They are tasty but the amount of oil used is a major put off. Thank god they don't use Olean or else there would be injustice. These are Jack Links with oil and a thicker casing. If you don't like the oil, get a Jack Link's; same price (often you can find 2-4-1's at gas stations or convenience stores), same taste, slightly thinner casing, and I find the casing's snap more noticeable in a Jack Link's. Slim Jim's don't even snap, it's more like that they smash and rip. I got into a discussion with a middle aged friend of mine and he said that Jack Link's tasted like the Slim Jim's 25-30 years ago when they were first introduced (a bit juicy), then Slim Jim changed their recipe to this atrocity. Why did you do that Conagra Foods!?This may be a pro or con. Slim Jim has a lot of fibers, Jack Link's melt in your mouth.I have a box of Slim Jim's and Jack Link's. I go for the Jack Links and my trashy friends always go for the Slim Jim's. Never understood it.The package I received had the tape ripped, so out of curiosity i counted; there was 97. So my best guess is either Conagra food's scale is off, or an Amazon warehouse employee is helping him/herself to a snack. It's not a problem for me, hell i bought a 100, have a few on me.

I got these for an upcoming group camping trip and they are exactly what I wanted.SizeThese are small, only about 3-4 inches, THEY ARE NOT FULL SIZE. Which I am fine with, I knew that when I bought them. I think they are the perfect size to be part of a snack with other items (one of these and some cheese, or some trail mix is awesome)PricePrice wise they are much cheaper than at my Wally World, there they are $4 for 15 sticks or 26 cents apiece while on Amazon I got them for $17 for 100 or 17 cents apiece.ExpirationI looked at a pack at the store the same day I received these (today, 3/26/15) and they expire on 9/30/15, the ones from Amazon expire 7/18/15. Even though they expire 2 1/2 months before the ones from the store you could still eat 1 a day for 100 days and be fine.OverallAll together I think it is a great deal and I would buy them again.
