Compatible Car Charger for Garmin Nuvi Drive DriveSmart DriveAssist RV

This cord worked just fine with my Garmin DriveSmart 65, including the built in Live Traffic.. After reading the reviews, I almost did not buy it, so for those that are think about purchasing this cord, here is some things you should know. 1. The Live Traffic does work with BUILT IN Live traffic. Older units has this function in the cord. So if you have an older unit, yes it will power your unit, but the Live Traffic will not work. Read the instructions which says... To check if your Garmin model has a built-in traffic receiver, navigate to Main Menu / Settings / Device/ About. Look for the line that says "Built-in traffic receiver?" If your model displays "Yes," you can use this TA20 compatible charger to receive over-the-air traffic information. 2. Cord thinner than original cord. True. But should not be an issue unless you treat it rough. Not a show stopper for me. 3. Cord connection fits loose. On my unit it fits tight enough to not fall out on it's own. That said, I leave mine plugged in all the time, and do not plug/unplug it all the time. I could see if you do that a lot, it may cause issues. (don't really know) This after-market cord meets my needs, thus the four stars. And I really did not see much in way of a choice that had a live traffic option.

I ordered a "reconditioned" Garmin Nuvi that came with a car charger. That charger functioned well as a power source, but wasn't charging the battery. I got an on-screen message that told me to use the charger that came with the Garmin. That's what I was doing. I finally ordered this (EDO Tech Replacement Car Charger) and now everything works fine. This EDO replacement charger now charges the interior battery where the charger that came with the unit didn't.

I purchased this cable for my discontinued Garmin GPS with traffic, the charger works fine charging the unit, it also seems to be updating with traffic.

I purchased this adapter to replace OEM equipment that frayed. The 3-Star rating is because the Traffic connection does not work 50% of the time. I get a notice at startup indicating a non compatible cord. I repositioned & unplugged with the same results.

Well I was in a area where traffic was backed up for 4 miles, I was not advised traffic was backed up that is why 3 stars. I have a Garmin 50 LMT HD so it should have worked. I will give it little more time.

I wanted a charger that directs me around traffic your product doesn't do that I am extremely disappointed, and nervous to purchase from you again.
