Magical Herbalism: The Secret Craft of the Wise (Llewellyn's Practical Magick)

The tone was not as accepting as I have found Cunningham in other works. It lists off specific details that I don't fond necessary then stays 'if you fail even that' like we're failing in our craft over his versions of a perfect location/details/specifics. Reading other reviews I thought it was the general negativity and misunderstanding of witch craft. I thought maybe a few parts were a bit detailed and lengthy and 'required'... but the whole book seems very judgemental. It makes things sound like things have to be that specific way or it's wrong, or were wrong, and that's the only way. THERE IS NO ONLY WAY. this does have some information that is useful but I think it can all be found online. I can't really recommend this book like I have others. Please keep in mind that for me the craft is meant to be about love and inner peace. You don't need a ton of supplies or specific circumstances and locations to do your work. Find what works for you and that's OKAY! don't let this book be the reason you stop trying to learn more or give up.

I've had this book for years now and I'm just reviewing it.Let me just say, doing herbal spells is NOT for the faint of heart.The spells are powerful. I have done spells and seen results as quickly as2 weeks, and have done spells that have worked over time to bring the correctcircumstances to my life.I've used herbal protection spells for myself, family, and friends. I highly recommendthis book for the herbal witch.

The information in this book can not be matched. I know everyone is into the internet these days, but why do that when the information is all contained in one book? Save yourself hours of websurfing. Get this book.

This book is a must have and a need for anyone that wants to learn about herbs and how to use them metaphysically.

This is the most awesome book in my rather large occult collection. I bought this book in 1989 and I still use it all the time. Scott Cunningham's books are a great source for those interested in Magickal pursuits. This books give you step by step insturctions, list of things you will need to start doing magick (everything from how to set up you altar to what kind of mind-set you need to have), and tons of resources where you can get all your magickal tools. My copy is out-of-date, but hopefully they have updated the lists. It is also beautifully illustrated. The only problem I had was that it is not spiral-bound so it is hard to keep the book open while you are trying out new spells or setting up your altar. If you want a book to start you off, this is it.

A must-have for any wiccan or anyone who is interested in herbal home remedies.

As usual, Scott Cunningham is a wonder of clarity and deep knowledge. I frequently wonder how much more he could have done had he lived longer. I say a prayer for him every time I pick up one of his books.

Scott Cunningham's books are an excellent choice when buying any books on herbalism, lore and spell craft. I always feel his knowledge is encyclopaedic and any of his books are worth having in your library. This book covers a good selection of herbs, giving concise but accurate information, so you can access and use if you need a spell mix right now.

Another excellent reference book which explores the magickal energy resident in plants and herbs. This is primarily a magickal book and does not contain information on herbal medicine.We begin with the tools needed to practice magickal herbalism, helpful suggestions on how to consecrate and charge these items is included, followed by a quick Magickal primer discussing basic principles, correspondences and preparation.The Witches Herbal is an index of magical herbs which includes the Latin and Common Names; Gender, Planet and Elementary Correspondences; Parts Used; Magickal Powers and Specific Uses.There is a wealth of information contained within these pages ranging from practical advice on storing herbs to the spiritual implications of harvesting and collecting plants from the wild. Beginners and adepts alike will appreciate the helpful glossaries and appendices, recipes for Incense, Scented Oils, Perfumes and instructions for making Fluid Condensers and Amulets.

This is a lovley little book about herbalism. Inside it gives you some great recipes, tools you will need, how to grow, store and dry out your herbs and even tells you how to make oils and incense for specific spells, but there's so much more in this book. It's a must for anyone interested in the herbal life x

I love this book I wasn't that much into Scott Cunningham ,but this book is amazingly informative .Easy to follow and understand.It petty much gives you everything you need to know about Herbs ,from growing to to storing to their uses.It is a little Gem of a book Highly recommend to any one just starting out as a budding Witch .

As always Scott Cunningham's book on magical herbalism is first class.

This book is the all time classic on Magical Herbalism. No self-respecting Wiccan/Witch should be without it. It is as simple as that. I wholeheartedly recommend it.

My kitchen is my sanctuary. Nothing beats playing with herbs, oils and lotions to see what can be conjured, this is a good reference to all energies that can be gained from the use of herbs.

GREAT BOOK USED THIS LOTS OF TIMES GOOD READ EASY TO FOLLOW WOULD RECOMEND THE RECIPE FOR LOVE HONEY IT GOS DOWN VERY WELL WITH ALL MY FAMILY AND FRIENDS

Book arrived in good condition as described and I am happy to read it from time to time when I am looking for information about different kind of view on herbs.

This is a great book for anyone interested in using herbs for magick. There are great sections on gathering and drying herbs, the history of herb magick, making incense and everything else you need to know for herbal use in magickal workings. Highly recommend.
