Best speaker buy ever.
love these babies, paired with the matching bookself and sub they sound fantastic. The tweeters are very crisp. I decided on these because they are true 3way speakers with a woofer, midrange and tweeter. Very happy. I purchased banana plugs, but didn't need them. Remove the cap, strip the wire far enough to go all the way through the post and gently screw the cap back on wiggle the wire a little and tighten the cap alittle more. got a pair of these, came back for the pair of 6.2 book shelf realized my receiver is 5.2 so I added the sub-woofer. (Denon AVR-S540BT if anybody cares) I did a lot of searching and reading before I decided to purchase these, for the price u can't go wrong here. I got 12ga wire and its just a little to much, I suggest 14ga wire, don't over tighten the caps. Thin carpet on a concrete floor, so I didn't use the floor spikes. Almost forgot, I did have to tighten the bases on both speakers, thinking its a shipping thing. I consider myself an audiophile and I am very happy with my ELAC system. Experiencing surround sound like never before. To put on the classic rock channel and hear those songs bouncing around the room like that WOW. Highly Recommend anything ELAC.

SOLO PIANO AND GUITAR OK, BUT NOT VOICES OR VIOLINS--QUALITY CONTROL PROBLEM
I feel like an idiot. This is the third set of these speakers I have purchased and I soon will have returned them all. The first set had a rough edge to the treble so I sent them back. I was new at this then and did not realize that they needed to be broken in. They were, by far, the best of the three. The second set were so bright and tinny that I had to turn the treble down to -10. I returned them immediately. This third set is about halfway between, with the treble set at -6. In addition, I have the 2 kHz on my equalizer turned down 3/4 of the way, and the 4 kHz turned down halfway. I contacted Elac, and they suggested a break-in period of 12-24 hours. I then consulted Google, and a break-in period of 10-30 hours was recommended for the tweeters. I surpassed them all and gritted my teeth through 32 hours of break-in time. It really didn't make a noticeable difference. Elac also said that the problem might be because I was using an 8 ohm receiver so I purchased a receiver that was substantially more expensive than my current one and able to accommodate these 6 ohm speakers. I had actually auditioned this receiver before, and I hoped it might be a good fit for these speakers. The receiver I purchased sounds rather warm. Since these Elac speakers are actually a bit dry sounding (therefore their amazing clarity), I thought it might be a good fit. Unfortunately, it didn't make any difference in the unpleasant treble edge I was hearing on some singer's voices. By the way, for all of you bass hogs out there (I am not one of them), these speakers have plenty of bass, and I actually turned the bass down to -2 a couple times to achieve a more natural effect. I found that solo piano and guitar music sounded fine, but that these speakers made violins sound squeaky. My theory is that this excessive treble edge occurred when Andrew Jones changed the treble maximum from the 20 kHz that it had on the F6 to 35 kHz on the F6.2. A customer service rep at Crutchfield listened to my story and thought that since I could high frequencies so well, I would have been happier with Elac's original debut F6 speakers. A representative at Elac told me the exact same thing. Too bad they don't make them anymore, though I could probably find a used pair somewhere. For now, I will continue to content myself with my vintage Marantz speakers, which are superior to these in every way except one. The Elac speakers are beautiful pieces of furniture.

Elac f6. 2 (Cadillac of Speakers)
I've been listening to bookshelf speakers with no sub (I hate subs) by B&W (awful, bright, fatiguing speakers!!) PSB, and Wharfedale for 5 years. There is no substitute for filling out the lower frequencies to round out the frequency spectrum. I only listen to music. The Elacs just went on sale by more than $200. I jumped on these after brief research. Previously I was unimpressed by Andrew Jones hype. I believe now! Smooth, seamless, detailed, neutral, and three dimensional. The only word needed is "beautiful"Enough can't be said about Amazon. They sent two men in a box truck to do the heavy work of delivering these towers. They brought them inside my house! I received them 24 hours after ordering them. Amazon is arguably the 8th wonder of the world.Of possible interest I'm using my new Audiolab 6000a integrated with Pangaea Premier digital coax cables (also new). The sources are two Tascam CD200bt "pro" cd players (because they last longer than consumer cd players). Also, I use Gear It 12 guage speaker cable which is a gem of a cable I learned of right here on our little Amazon Reviews section priced at about 30ish? per pair. The only source material I've used thus far has been exclusively Classic and Modern Jazz. Alot of old classic recordings, some of dubious recording quality. With my aforementioned bookshelves, I'd be quaking and cringing in discomfort at the saxes and trumpets. The Elacs purr contentedly while my previous anxiety attacks have dissipated. The Elacs let you listen. They let you hear naturally. They let you pay rapt attention.

For Home Theatre LEFT/RIGHT Speaker Use requires more Power than average Receiver can Supply
For Audiophile performance used with a Stereo 60-100 watt per channel amplifier rated for 4-8 ohm speakers these speakers perform wonderfully as per numerous test reports. However as they are rated at 6 ohms impedance a new $1500 AVR set for Stereo only didn't provide enough Oomph to bring the Dynamic Punch up to the level of a basic Stereo only integrated amplifier of decades ago. I own the matching Center channel Elac speaker which is rated 8 ohms impedance. The receiver has no problem supplying it with sufficient drive. For having sufficient Matching L/R/C Level drive I purchased a 5 channel 100 watt ( 8 ohm, 20-20,000 hz ) which is rated for 4-8 ohm impedance. Wired it from the AVR pre-amp out. For satisfactory Loud/Dynamic playback makes a Noticeable Difference.

Uncolored sound. Easy on your ear.
Very clean and balanced sound. It sounds just as good as the source it's fed. Love it.

Hands down one of the best sounding speakers in its price range
I use these with my ps4 and have my turntable hooked up. Playing my vinyl on these the voices sound very natural, low end is nice but I'd still pair with a sub but by itself as a 2.0 is a very strong contender. Video games/movies sound phenomenal explosions sound intense without sounding muddy and again voices are clear and easily understood.

ELAC Debut 2.0 F6.2 Floorstanding Speaker
For the money, it is a no brainer best buy. I could not think of any other loudspeaker brand that could compete with Elac's performance for the price. The price is more than reasonable and the build quality is very good. Highly recommended for entry level audiophiles, or for home theater applications.

Exceptional value
Next day delivery. Amazing sound quality for this price. Only negative is stability, they could be knocked over easily as their footprint is very small.
