Sheath/Cover/Holster for the Benchmade Bushcrafter 162 - Handmade Custom Leather (No Ferro Rod Sleeve, Brown with Contrasting Edge)

This sheath is nicely made and functions way better than the original sheath that comes with the Benchmade knife.This sheath is a lot of money but I feel it’s worth it. The craftsmanship is excellent.

This sheath is an excellent replacement for the less-than-substantial sheath that comes with the Benchmade Bushcrafter 162. It is made of heavy duty leather and the craftsmanship is impeccable. The fit is perfect. The only gripe I have is that the knife fits lower down in the sheath than it did with the original, making it a little more difficult to withdraw the knife. In fact, because the design of the sheath makes the knife "snap" into place due to the snugness of the fit, I sometimes worry that I might accidentally cut myself while attempting to withdraw the knife from the sheath (I keep my knife sharp like the day it came). If you order one, you will understand what I mean. Nevertheless, I have no regrets about ordering this and using it. It works particularly well with the dangle that it is designed to be used with. All in all, this was a great purchase!

Let me start off by saying this one incredibly built sheath out of quality Leather. It gets five stars for that. You will have to wait maybe a few weeks for it to arrive because they hand make them. My issues are that the sheath comes up so high on the knife that I can only use the tip of my thump and index finger to draw the knife. It takes a bit of time to draw this knife especially when not looking at it. It would be better if they can shorten the top of the sheath a few inches so you can get a least two fingers and a thumb on the handle of the knife when drawing. My other issue is that I ordered the D ring Dangler from the same company for another 25 dollars or so and even though the sheath and the dangler are made by the same company and fit into a tiny box they still charged me over five dollars to ship the sheath and another five to ship the danger that was in the same small box. Come on....

Beautiful craftsmanship, amazing fit

This is a high quality handmade leather sheath designed for my Benchmade Bushcrafter 162. It is extremely well made. My knife fits deep and secure in the sheath; it is literally modeled to the knife itself. The sheath is glued and stitched with high quality materials. The leather is a hard leather as apposed to soft and supple. It repels moisture. Along with the leather dangle, it sits low off my belt and free hanging. It doesn't pinch my waist when I sit or bend. It's pretty nice! It's a bit expensive, but for the high quality craftsmanship and high quality materials - it's well worth it.

I had high expectations due to price and I’m not disappointed. Biggest concern was that the sheath would be too high on handle - it’s not. You won’t win any quick draws but that’s not it’s purpose. The sheath is meant to carry, secure and protect your knife and it’s does all 3. I justified the price because I love my Bushcrafter 162 and needed something that will last as long as it will. I was on the fence for awhile... wish I bought sooner.

In an age of too frequently having to settle for plastic sheaths or sheaths made for pennies out of cheap, low grade leather, it’s great to have a high end, hand made sheath that’s made with the highest grade of leather and that’s obviously crafted with a great deal of pride and care. One reviewer gave it a low rating for not coming with a dangler. This is not a problem - unlike the low quality sheath that came with the knife, this one works perfect with a carabiner on your belt.
