Works as expected
Units have an off spot that clicks when you turn it from the on to the off position, and it also has a red light that turns on when it's in any position other than off, so it's easy to know that you've switched it off. The design seems to work just fine. I used two of mine so far for a couple of 12v fan control circuits with no issues.

These things can really take a beating!
Long story short: After I received these, I thought most of them were defective. But they do require a little bit more than 3 volts. They work so-so with 4.5 volts, and fine wit 6 volts input. I knocked off half a star for the misleading specifications. These were so good, however, that I ordered 2 more six-packs. I dinged the for another half star, because seven of the devices were unfinished from the factory. Six were sans knobs, and the manufacturer (in China) didn't cut seven of them at the cut line on the board, so the board is a little bit wider. And the knobs were left out. I have not tested these unfinished units yet. But with the ones I did test, I accidentally shorted the output, put them in backwards (it's easy to mix up test leads on a cluttered workspace), and thought they were defective. A couple of them started smoking. Then they temporarily quit working. The following day, I tried them again and they all worked! Must be thermal protection on these boards. When I get time, I will test the other twelve from my second order, and give an update if needed.

I've looked for these a while and found em!
I spent some time looking for a small motor/voltage controller. These work great with my 12V applications. They stay cooler than I expected, have a "click" to shut off (when turned fully counter clockwise) and a good degree of accuracy. The control on the knob is smooth. I'm currently using them for 12V fan controls and LED lighting controls and they work great. I'm buying some more.

Garbage
These are garbage. They do not work towards the low and high of their minimum range. Additionally they have a lot of output variation so if you have a device sensitive to this stay away from this product. Overall they just feel really cheap too. Buy the slightly more expensive one and save yourself a lot of headaches and time. Cannot Recommend

These work great!
I am very impressed with these speed controllers. I didnt realize that they also click off in the lowest setting. So I didnt need to add power switch between battery and motor which was a money saving bonus. Good quality for the price I am very happy.

Didn't work with 3.7V battery
Misleading specifications, didn't work with my 3.7V battery. Using a 9V worked, but 9V is too big for my application. Useless for my needs.

Works good. Has off/variable(on)
I Installed this on a rv bathroom vent fan. Works good. It has a off/variable(on). The pot could have longer threads but it seems to be of good quality for the price.

Shaft to short
If the shaft on the pot was just a 1/8 inch longer it would be a lot easier to put the nut on. Otherwise it worked fine. Used for speed control on 6v cassette recorder. Run power directly to circuit. Run motor wires directly to circuit. All kind of range for speed. For using speed control on Walkmans. Use the 1.8 speed control circuit. This will not work on 3v Walkmans. I gave 4 stars cuz one didn’t work.
