Works as intended but there's no indication on how to connect it nor any instructions
These were bought to monitor battery voltages on cordless tool lithium conversions. They work as intended but there are no markings how to connect the battery e.g does not say which way up the connector goes and which end negative should go to. There are 4 ways of connecting it with only one being correct.Had to google for connection information to see which way up the plug goes and which end to put the negative at. It wouldn't be too hard to put a mark on the casing which end is negative or at least a label attached to the back.Other than this issue the voltage monitors are cheap and work great.

Works as advertised, nice and simple, no issues.Functionality instructions would have been very very appreciated, only found vague instructions in another listing ironically ! For that reason 3* instead of 5*

Where are the instructions
The product is good once you can work out how to connect it correctly and how to set it up. There are no instructions with the unit, and there are no markings on the unit to help with the electrical connections, it's all guesswork. The only other complain I have is the audible alarm, I've yet to make it work. It might be what I'm doing, no instructions, but by scrolling through the preset voltage values I can get the unit to flash on and off when the battery is low, but not to sound the alarm.

Essential for long life and safety using LiPo batteries
Many smaller RC models come with simple USB chargers that do not allow you to store LiPo batteries at suitable voltages for long life or safety. Anyone in the hobby will soon realise that LiPos need a little extra care in use and when storing.These brilliant little devices allow you to measure the voltage by connecting the battery balance leads to them, whereupon they flash the total voltage and then the voltage per cell. While I would always recommend a proper charger that is capable of a storage charge, in the absence of this, you can check the voltage using this device and get it as close as you can to 3.8 volts per cell for storing the batteries.Additionally, on simpler RC models where the electronic speed control might not have a LiPo low-voltage cut-off system, you can use these to sound an alarm when voltage drops to a preset level. You simply attach the device to the battery balance leads and run the model until the alarm sounds. This prevents you discharging the battery below the voltage level at which a LiPo can become dangerous or not recover. Perhaps a minimum of 3.2 volts per cell is a safe value, or 3.4 for a bit more peace of mind.

Read if you need to know how to use them, as no instructions come with them.
For anyone getting these and not having used a type of voltage reader before be aware there are no instructions on how to use them. This could cause a problem as there are numerous combinations of how you could fit your battery lead to the device, only one way is correct.Simply, always remember screen facing you with the speakers at the top and pins at the bottom, take your battery lead (the one that goes into the balance charger) and always keep the black outermost cable on the left, this is the one that will go into the first pin - see photo.The first voltage you see will be all the cells in total, it will then cycle through each cell 1,2 3 etc...There is a button on the top, each time pressed it will take the voltage up 0.1, this is so you can set a minimal voltage for a single cell. Once the voltage reaches your minimal voltage an alarm sounds, I can hear this some 200 meters away without issue. Overall a very good product

Good design, accurate and convenient sized
The media could not be loaded. These are fantastic little LiPo alarms / voltage testers. They simply connect to your Lipo charging cable and give an overall battery voltage as well as the voltage reading for each cell.These can be fixed to a position in your RC car. In my buggy, I've fitted it onto my carbon fibre top deck, then used a cable extension to connect to the battery.These are simple to use when you know what you're doing. There are no instructions included, however you have to figure out which way to connect them. Black wires to the left as you're looking at the screen seems to be the best method to remember.These make a really loud beep and it's easy to change the alarm voltage for the lowest reading cell via the button on the top.Personally, I've set the alarm at 3.6v per cell (7.2v overall on a 2s battery). The lowest you safely want to go is 3.2v per cell.These work well and I can definitely recommend them. My only reason to drop 1 star relates to the lack of instructions and the fact that the cable position isn't marked up that obvious in terms of which way to connect it. There's also no way to turn off, other than to simply unplug it. However, for £2.40 per alarm, you really can't comai.

These are some of the best put together battery alarms I’ve had. The pins are well protected and they are well built.
