

Review: Great exersices - I have a pool and was interested in learning exercises I could benefit from. I am over 70 and have not been as active as I should. This actually works. My knees have gained strength and no longer feel pain when stooping. Gradually I am tightening some of the flabby areas also. I am very pleased with the easy exercises and how much progress I have made. Would recommend to any age person, not just seniors. This is easy and fun. Putting just some of the suggestions into practice upped the efficiency of my cardio session and burned an additional 100 calories over the same 45 minute session compared to what I had been achieving before. The book breaks down into easy sections based on what you want to do or which area of your body needs attention. Tips are given with each suggested workout pattern, making it clear on how to adapt any given exercise if a particular body part is sore or vulnerable. Step by step photographs for every single exercise are clear and easy to follow. I heartily recommend this book. It's going to make all the difference for me in rehabilitating and getting fitter!

I like that the photos of the exercises are large enough ...
The majority of the book covers why water exercise is beneficial. It was a quick read. I like that the photos of the exercises are large enough to see. You can customize the activities to fit your specific needs or goals. I purchased this along with the Aqua Fitness set to help with my injured knee. I noticed improvement after the first day. After five days of water exercise my knee is much better. I can walk without a cane and miminal pain. Greater range of motion has been obtained each day.

Get back into shape in the pool
Lots of us, including myself, have access to a public pool, but besides swimming endless, boring laps, what else is there? What about following an injury or surgery? Interested in getting back into shape with minimal chance of further injury? Well, then pool aerobics could be for you and this concise little book written by a fitness guru could be for you. These exercises are "easy." No fancy choreography. They are clearly described and anyone can do them, no age limits. If you can get in the pool and float, you are good. The exercises aim to create a total body workout and are a great start for beginners. That said, for the more advanced athlete, interested in "progressing to new levels," these exercises are okay too, but there are no instructions to incorporate these into another type of training routine, just stand-alone. Overall, recommended for thoroughness and simplicity.

Somewhat informative but not very appealing to read
This book contains some valuable information, but also a lot of information that seems rather unnecessary. I bought the book and am obviously interested in water workouts, so why so much information designed to persuade me that water workouts are beneficial? The pages would have been better utilized by providing more detail as to how to actually perform the exercises. The black-and-white photos are rather unappealing; for the price of the book I expected color illustrations. On the whole I am somewhat disappointed.

Great way to learn more about water aerobics
Written by a man with the experience and credentials to really know his stuff. I liked the photos so I could see the variety of equipment people use in pools for water aerobics. It was good to read when I was taking my first class, but it's not essential if you have a really expert teacher and ask questions. For a person who likes to really delve into a new form of exercise and have a broad understanding right away it was a good purchase.

Love this book!!!!
I am fairly new to water aerobics and wanted to bring this book to the pool for ideas. I removed the pages with a boxcutter and used sheet protectors and a binder. The book describes the benefits of water work-outs and includes easy to read workout programs with illustrations. I highly recommend this manual.

Very helpful book!
I never realized how many variations of water moves could be executed until I bought this book. It's well written, well designed, laid out in a manner to help you from very beginner stage to advanced athlete. There are plenty of underwater photos showing each exercise in stages. The written description of each move is short and succinct. Using the book as a guide I've made a 'pool mate sheet', laminated it, and take it will me poolside to use until I have that stage memorized. If you use this book as intended you will surpass your personal best time and again...and have fun doing it!
