Great kit, using the tools and locks together with online tutorials and YouTube videos my 12 year old som had hours of fun. I thought the kit may have been presented in a box as opposed to a plain cardboard box - But no real issue. The tools are of good quality for the price and the locks are a great starting point for gaining confidence and stating a new hobby.

Easy to use very begginer friendly, good to practice but the locks they give are really really easy to pick im talking about 5-30seconds for a beginner. Need something a bit higher security level at least. Managed to lock pick a file cabinet shortly after. Harder to lock pick a door at home. Fun to use good skill to have. Good , keeping my son busy

Comes with plenty of bits to have a go and learn the fundamentals. I have never ever tried to pick a lock in my life and thought it would be something to keep me busy and a new skill to learn. Tools are good and easy to use. Down side is that the locks are incredibly easy to unlock. I’ve had the kit open about 45 mins and as a complete starter to this, I've had all 3 locks open multiple times. Great for learning and seeing the visuals but not great for getting any kind of skill or technique as they’re just too easy to pick open.

I recently purchased a lock picking set, and I wanted to share my thoughts on it for anyone considering adding this unique tool to their collection. The set I bought comes in a compact and durable case, which makes it easy to store and transport. Upon opening the case, I was pleased to find a diverse selection of lock picks and tension wrenches. The tools are made from high-quality stainless steel, ensuring they are robust and long-lasting. Each pick has a comfortable grip, allowing for precision and control while manipulating the pins. The guide is incredibly detailed, walking beginners through the fundamentals of lock picking, including the principles of how locks work, the tools needed, and step-by-step techniques for picking various types of locks. Even as a novice, I found the explanations clear and helpful. Overall this is an excellent product, WELL worth the money and extremely good value. The first thing that is apparent when you open the shipping package is the quality of the items – excellent – everything is well made. The pin tumbler lock-pick set is comprehensive. The transparent lock body is very good for use as either a self-training/practice tool or as a lock-pick teaching tool. The PDF file is comprehensive and should provide ample information to get the budding lock-smith started and eventually (if the information is understood and applied) proficient. There are a number of aspects which I believe warrant mention. i) Most important! Although it is briefly mentioned I do not believe that it is stated forcefully enough – mere carriage of the lock-pick tools in the UK (unless qualified as a professional lock-smith) would constitute ‘going equipped to steal’ and if discovered during a stop-search by the police is an arrest-able offence! The cash-card concealed set in particular would be a difficult situation to defend. Keep and use these only on your own premises. ii) The first opening technique explained in the guide – described as ‘raking’ in the first part – ‘scrubbing’ in the second should also include the caveat that those techniques whilst effective (and promote early confidence!) are also damaging to the lock pins – consider – steel tools raking/scrubbing over the brass pins equals wear and ultimately a situation where the original keys will not open the lock. The raking/scrubbing method should be kept limited and individual pin picking the main aim. iii) This last point relates to the ‘shear-line’ between the lock barrel and the tumbler pins. If you know what you are looking for (and/or use the supplied diagrams to assist) it is relatively easy to identify the shear line through the key end of the lock as the acrylic is crystal clear – through the side of the lock not so much, due to the density of the acrylic and light refraction. I suggest the introduction of a thin red line within the acrylic at the shear line (and perhaps one on the spring side of the pins at the point where they align when a key is inserted) just on one side of the lock during the lock production process would be very useful.

I bought this set after watching some videos online. Everything that should be there was in the box, with an added bonus - although the kit says "3 practise locks included" one of the locks has "indoor" and "outdoor" ends with different keys, and so there are 4 different locks to pick. Two of the locks come with two keys, the third lock comes with one key for each end. There is a nice range of tools, with some overlap of their functions. The tools come with a small carrying case, and there is another set of 5 tools in a small credit card style case. The credit card case is very flimsy, but will do the job if you want to keep that set in a wallet. The only downside is that there are no instructions. There is a card with a web address which is supposed to lead to 2 free ebooks, but the link does not work. However, an Internet search found a PDF explaining what the tools are and how to attempt the padlock that comes in the kit. Realistically, the tools are a slightly flimsy but still more than useable, and for this price I would not expect professional-grade tools. I am happy enough with the kit and having picked each of the practise locks several times each I am going to check the house for old padlocks to try next. Other than the lack of instructions, I am very happy that I bought this kit.
