Five Nights of Great Sleep Tent Camping!
Bottom Line: The FE Active Folding Camping Cot let me get GREAT night's sleep, ever night, for 5 consecutive nights on my last motorcycle camping trip through the TN and NC mountains. I don't review products often but this one deserves 6 stars! Summary: My 62-year-old back was letting me know that if I intended to keep tent camping from a motorcycle, an upgrade was needed for my sleep setup. I already own a good sleeping pad and decided that the next step was to get it off the ground. After a bit of research, I found this cot and am extremely happy with my purchase! After 9 hours of riding I set up camp and got 7+ hours of high-quality sleep. I woke up refreshed and my back felt great. The next day I rode another 8 hours to the next camp site where I got another great night's sleep, same thing the next night, and the next... by the 4th night this cot became a permanent part of my camping gear. Details: I ordered the cot with enough time to learn how to set it up and make sure it fit in my Marmot 3P Tungsten tent. My initial impressions were: 1) the aluminum tubing is sturdy, 2) the man-made fabric is tough and won't stretch if it gets wet, 3) the seams are well stitched and, 4) it requires some thoughtfully placed body weight to set up. Setup\takedown is easily done outside of the tent, it's a bit more difficult when you have to do it inside a low ceiling tent because it's raining out. Once setup, the cot fabric stretches tight and provides a firm foundation for a sleeping pad. I sleep on my side and back and this cot provided ample room for me to be very comfortable, which ever position I ended up in. The cot added about 5 minutes to my tent setup and ~7 when breaking camp. It re-packed nicely into its storage pouch. The cot's ten plastic feet are wide and provide good weight distribution. If you don't set your tent up on sharp rocks, they shouldn't wear out the tent's ground pad or floor.

Great for travel!
We purchased this cot as an additional bed for our teenager on a trip to Mexico. The travel bag fit easily into a suitcase and was light enough we didn't need to worry about going over the airline's weight limit. Assembly was easy and the teenager said the cot was very comfortable. There are a few minor cons - not enough to detract from our satisfaction with the purchase but things it would have been nice to know in advance of buying. Pros: - easy to pack - lightweight - comfortable for sleeping - easy assembly Cons: - On a hardwood floor, the cot is so lightweight it moved every time my teen sat on it, rolled over while sleeping, etc. Likely would be fine on carpet or other textured flooring/ground. - Takes some muscle to get the first support attached/removed - The travel bag could be slightly larger to make repacking a bit easier

Good cot, minimal sagging, could use more insulation
I've used this cot 3 times now, mostly indoors but in a cold climate. It works fairly well, comfort is above average, I slept well, and setup speed is medium. There are two long poles that I had trouble getting into the holes, but the legs are easy to snap on. I am 5'10 male and there is plenty of leg room and feels sturdy enough with minimal sagging. The cot sits low, so it can be difficult getting out of with weak knees. This is probably the smallest width of a cot as I would go, as this cot was comfortable enough when tossing in the night. I enjoy the portability of the cot, it breaks down compactly for a car, but probably too bulky for overnight backpacking. My only minor criticism is that heat is lost through the mat, there is no insulation, so the cot needs an additional insulation layer.

Very good but legs bent but great customer service
Update: Amazon assisted me in contacting the company. They were quick to respond and were very helpful. They asked for pictures and immediately sent me replacements. They also said they’d forward the pictures to their design department to see if there is a need to redesign. Very good company. The cots were great. Compact to fit two of them along with 2 sleeping bags, a tent, and other camping gear in a single bag that met the size and weight allowance for the aircraft. Highly recommend. I did a lot of reading before choosing this cot. My wife and I took a 2 week trip abroad and wanted to take a tent and camp. To keep comfortable we looked at the cots for weight and size as our check in luggage could only be 23kg. We bought 2 of these a month before leaving on our trip as to give us a chance to check they would work. They are very comfortable and kept us off the ground. We are overall pleased with these. The draw back, when I took them down after our third night to move on to another town, we noticed 2 of the legs were bent on each cot. Could not figure out how and they can’t be bent back. The rest of the trip we put the bent ones at the head and foot where less weight but overall disappointed they bent bc we really liked these cots and wanted to use them again on future trips. Bc we bought them 1.5 months before our trip, we can’t have them replaced. Will try to find a way to contact the company.

Not durable
I bought this cot on 8/11/24. Around late August- early Sept of 24 I started using it as a lounge for tanning outside in my backyard. A week ago (4/25/25) I noticed the legs were bent, not all but a few. If they weren’t in just the right position it would collapse when lying on it. Around the same time I noticed the fabric was starting to rip. As of today (5/2/25) the long support just snapped. I didn’t use my cot from October 24-earl Feb 25. I got about 3 months of use. Not worth the price.

Great Cot for the Price!
I must admit I had my doubts after reading other reviews. A lot of reviews mentioned how difficult the cot was to set-up and given how much cheaper this one was than others out there, I had concerns about quality. Given some of the positive reviews, however, as well as the company's warranty, I figured I'd give it a shot and I'm very glad I did! Mine just arrived, so I haven't had a chance to use them in the field yet, however my first impressions are very positive. The set-up couldn't have been easier. I didn't encounter any of the issues others described in their reviews. The long poles went in with ease and the supports clipped on with very minimal effort. I did use the trick others mentioned about pushing one end against the ground to flex the support and clip the other end, which helped, but I was still able to do it with only a slight about of force. The cot was very comfortable and felt sturdy when I laid on it, though there was a tiny bit of noticeable flex when I tossed and turned. In terms of quality, the stitching seemed good, the cot material was sturdy, and the poles seemed solid. Will post an update once I had a few chances to use it.

Comfy! But doesn't last
Overall, great design, poor cord quality. Didn't survive a week. Took this on a 5 day kayak trip. Assembled it once before that just to get the hang of it, then used 4 times during the trip. Pros: Super comfortable. Made sleeping and the whole trip so much nicer. It just barely fit in my tent but was a little longer than me so good for sleeping (I'm 5'6"). Once I remembered to stand it on its side to attach the feet, using my body weight as leverage, assembly was a snap (literally). Cons: Minor note for assembly, probably the most annoying part is getting the polls in the sleeves, especially inside a cramped tent, but it's ok. The main reason this is a 3 star is that after only 3 assemblies, the cords inside a couple of the legs got so stretched they started falling apart or not staying assembled. By the fifth use, the cords in both poles and most of the legs had the same problem to the point the cot started collapsing while in use. The caps on the ends of the poles popped out so I had 2-3 extra inches of cord, making it even harder to thread the polls into the slots.

Better than expected
We were sick of air mattresses leaking and only lasting for a year or two so took a gamble on these right before a camping trip in yellowstone and they work great. Have camped with them 4 times now without issue. The canvas is sturdy and comfortable and the frame seems sturdy so far. Easy to set up and take down and is quite lite and compact. Not small enough to backpack with but for normal front country camping or just to use as a cot for a sleepover its perfect and should last several years. No more waking up to deflated mattresses!!!!!
