After 37 years of marriage, four kids, and three grandchildren (so far) I finally realized the need for an ice bag. Crazy right? We never really had the need for one, fortunately. Growing up our kids didn't get hurt to the point where they needed an ice bag. Now, I'm the one who needs the ice bag, and often. I've been using large Ziploc bags, doubled, with a dish towel wrapped around it. It never really occurred to me to just buy an ice bag. I recently had oral surgery and boy did I need that ice bag. Six straight days with that thing on my face for at least 12 hours a day. The Ziploc bags did work but honestly it was a hassle putting the whole thing together, was not comfortable and I could not really feel the coolness of the ice coming through. So while I sat here with my version of an ice pack I decided it was finally time to order one. I went with the Mueller because of their reputation and I wanted a bag that was not made in China regardless of the price. I diligently try not to purchase anything from China unless I absolutely have to. The Mueller ice bag is very well made, high quality. It has a plastic liner so there is no water leaking through and the bag does not sweat. The ice fits perfectly through the opening and the cap closes nicely. The ice lasts for a long time and when you take it off and put it down somewhere, you don't have to worry about it marking up your table or leaving a wet spot on your couch, bed, etc. It was also very comfortable on my face. I would highly recommend the Mueller ice bag.

I have ordered a dozen of these over the years for me, my kids and grandkids. Hands down the best ice pack out there. Effective, long lasting and reusable over and over. If you or family members are athletes, this is a must have for your first aid kit.

I had previously purchased other ice bags, and over time the water inside slowly soaks through the bag. This apparently a somewhat common problem due to these bags being made out of some low-quality material. I purchased the Ohuhu and Neotech and both had the same problem. These bags will actually mold inside and out if water is left in them for too long.The MUELLER bag is much more waterproof. This bag has a slick liner inside that looks and feels like an inflatable pool toy. The outside is more cloth-like, like these other bags. Apparently some brands go cheap and skip adding the waterproof liner. Thanks to MUELLER for making something reasonable.

Better than putting ice into a baggie. Reasonable price. We use it for my husband, who injured his knee. Really stays in place and provides him with cool relief.

This is a great little ice bag. It stays cold for a long time and the material itself is soft and soothing. The only thing I would change is the size. It’s a bit small, but adequate for a small area needing an ice bag. I will probably order a second larger one also.

I play tennis a couple times a week and I have rotator cuff issues so I could really use some ice on my shoulder after playing. But I rarely ever ice because it's a hassle. I don't like icing because I typically just use fill up a zip-loc bag with ice, but it's not the greatest way to ice. First off, you deal with a fair bit of condensation so the area you are trying to ice gets wet - not a huge deal but an annoyance especially if you don't want to get water leaking on your clothes or upholstery. Second, the ice against the plastic is so cold that it becomes uncomfortable. So you wrap the bag with a towel to deal with the first two issues, but then it's just not cold enough.Well, my wife ordered one of these bags about a few weeks back and I thought why the heck haven't I tried these before? They are awesome!!! The fabric is thin enough that the area you are trying to ice gets cold but the texture of the fabric is such that it minimizes condensation. When I say minimizes condensation, it's almost non-existent. I live in Southern California where the air is usually pretty dry, but during the weeks that I first used it we were in the midst of an El Nino summer and it was actually quite humid so I'm confident that you will have minimal condensation no matter where you live.I have since ordered two more of these bags. I haven't tried other bags, but I have tried the gels packs that you put in the freezer and I would say that this is my favorite way to ice my shoulder. I fill the bag about 2/3 to 3/4 full of ice then put about a 1/4 cup of water in. I try to get as much of the air out of the bag then screw the lid on. (The screw top creates a nice seal and does not leak.) The bag conforms to the shape of my shoulder nicely and gets it very cold without feeling like it is burning my skin from being too cold.When I'm done, I simply pour the water out and then give it a few good shakes to get as much water out as possible. Due to the folds that are used to increase the capacity of the bag without introducing seams it is difficult to get all of the water out. I then try to puff up the bag then allow it to air dry without the lid to mitigate any nasty smells that might result from the moisture.I highly recommend this bag to anybody looking for a convenient and low-cost solution to making icing easy.

Great quality and easy to use. It holds a lot of ice, stays cold for a long time, and doesn't leak. Exactly what I was looking for.
