This clutch kit was just the thing my Whirlpool direct drive washing machine needed to get the spin cycle operating again. As is typical with parts kits ordered online, there were extra bits I didn't need, but what matters is that the stuff I DID need was all here and worked exactly as intended.Here's a tip for you if you have to do this job: the 7/16 bolt holding the agitator in place will probably round off when you try to remove it. The solution is an Irwin Bolt Grip extractor. The rounded bolt head is recessed too far for you to reach with a drill without destroying the agitator, but the Bolt Grip extractor worked like magic on the first try.

Would buy again.

A little bit hard to install but not impossible

I was very glad I was able to find this on Amazon. It allowed me to keep my older Whirlpool washer going a little longer. Appliance repair man was not able to get the part at the local appliance parts supply store. Thank goodness Amazon had what I needed. I’m not a fan of new, computer controlled, incredibly overpriced appliances with planned obsolescence so I was incredibly happy to be able to keep my washing machine going a little bit longer. This part was installed a couple of months ago and everything is still running fine.

4 stars for the quickness in delivery, the extra pieces for common washer problems, and the fact that the clutch fit/works fine in my washer. I took off one star for the plastic pieces of the coupler. The metal sleeves of the plastic piece that slides on to the motor rotary arm will not slide on because there are two notches that stop it from fitting flush against the motor. I did replace the rubber center piece with the new one, but I had to put the old plastic pieces on the coupler because the new one will not fit on no matter what. If I had a metal file to file down those two notches on each piece, I could probably use them. Too much work for a $20 product though.All in all, I'm glad I bought it because I had my broken Whirlpool washer up and running 2 hours after the pieces came in (replaced the agitator dogs, clutch (the main issue), and the rubber portion of the coupler with this kit).

The kit had more than what I needed. All I needed to replace was the clutch but I got a new brake, motor coupling and agitator "dogs" along with a complete clutch assembly. The only issue I had was with the retaining clip/spring for the clutch. It was thicker than my original and would not fit, so I had to use the original. Overall it was a great value for everything that's included with this kit.

This worked really well For less than $30 I was able to repair my 18+ year-old washing machine. Clutch assemble and motor couplings worked great and my washer is quieter than before. But, two things to note:1. The directions mention a blue and black spring and the kit comes with a blue and green. The green seems to be the black one and is for smaller-capacity washers.2. BE CAREFUL. The brake cam driver was a different size than mine. Once installed it made a horrible noise. I ended up putting the old one back in and it works great now. Just wish I didn't have to take the machine apart twice in 12 hours.

Everything fit. Replaced all parts included in the kit. Seemed like good quality. Everything is working well. Spins at full speed and power again.
