Great little game and cheap to buy into.
I opened four of these decks and have to say the game was highly enjoyable. By happenstance they all had the Martian faction in which is a bit repetitive. I certainly will be getting future sets of released. Some decks are stronger than others but not grossly so. Games take a good bit longer than first described, some claim they will be over in 10-15 minutes. Not in our experience. Give it s go, the packs are cheap enough everyone should try one.

Brilliant Gift
Keyforge is an amazing game and its a shame its not played anymore. There is no support there. Buying the single deck is good if you want to play. The quality of the pack is brilliant.

Great value
Keyforge is a really fun game, and this set is currently the best value way to get started. You get x2 decks, which would typically cost £20 (assuming the standard £10 per deck cost. They can be found for slightly cheaper), so you're really only paying £5 for all of the official tokens and a couple of poster playmats.

Good started kit (outdated)
Great but decks can't be scanned on the app.

Probably not worth the difference, price dependent..
Nice to get a selection of tokens for only a £5 extra. However, with the starter pack just over £20 (currently), you can get 2 decks, 2 mats and tokens for only £5 more than the deluxe. Personally I'd go for the starter pack even if I already had enough tokens as it's already better value until the individual deck prices drop to well below £10. I did get my best deck fro a deluxe box and the bottom of the box was slightly damaged, I suspect a design floor rather than being tampered with as the slightly paranoid first reviewer suggested. Perhaps he wasn't happy with the deck he received so stoking his suspicions.

Worth every penny
Love KeyForge and Firestorm Cards were brilliant in getting the deck to me afyer a little mix up originally with orders. I received clippers instead of a deck, but Alex at FSC got it all sorted as quick as possible and now I have a pretty decent deck I must say. Will be ordering directly from them in the future. Thanks

No rule book, a pain to learn, costly
I have these cards for a while now. There is no rule book, so you have to find it on Fantasy Flights' website. The components necessary to play are not provided. I will need to make your own chain counter. I find the rules unclear and this makes playing the game annoying. My opinion is to ask somebody who knows how to play to teach you, AND, to play several games with you afterwards. It is a waste of money if you cannot find somebody, who knows the rules, to play with you.

Great Game and Cheap!
Such an amazing idea and game. Having to only purchase a deck and no requirement for booster packs allows for a quick card game experience. The game itself is extremely versatile and allows for many ways of play. The artwork is also beautiful. A great game overall!

My teenagers LOVE Magic the Gathering, but it is expensive to keep up with new releases every three months. So when Richard Garfield designer was releasing this one, we got excited. We grabbed several Call of the Archons decks and learned how to play. This is a SOLID game! Yes, some decks work better for different playstyles but it is a solid 2-player game. We even did 4 and 5 player games with some suggested house-rules from Board Game Geek site. A bit long but it could work! Then this set came out and we love the game even more: + No "same starter decks" as in every other package of Call of Archons, but two unique Age of Ascension decks. Felt like a draft even though each player got a deck and that was that. + At least $10 less for this starter set than Call of the Archons. We were able to pick this up for $20, which we easily spent $10 per Call of the Archons decks. Thus even for $25 we get two unique decks and the extras. + Two fold out playmats. Yes, they are paper and yes they will tear, but it is helpful to have the playmats to get everyone in the habit of having their decks and keys in the same spot for tracking purposes. + Tokens! You get the stun, health and power tokens. + Keys! The two sets of blue, yellow, red keys are a nice thick cardboard and should last a good long time. OVERALL: Much better value for the money than original starter set. The additional faction powers/mechanisms are a good addition too. Can still combine these with Call of the Archons decks and have a good old time.

**Don't let anyone see your unique QR Code until you scan it into your Keyforge Deck App!** Prices online may be a bit high for a while as most places are sold out, however, places like Barnes & Noble should have decks in stock for the correct price of $9.50+. Buy online if you don't mind paying a bit more. Keyforge is an interesting non-collectible new dueling card game from the mind of Richard Garfield (of Magic the Gathering, King of Tokyo, & Netrunner fame), each deck has a unique name and is a unique combination of 37 cards from the available card pool of about 400 including cards from 3 different factions. Each deck is a stand alone playable deck - decks are not to be altered in anyway (NOT a CCG like Magic the Gathering) and each deck plays slightly or hugely different from other decks because of that deck's included cards. Due to the Algorithm that defines each deck some might actually be too strong or even too weak, but you won't know until you play around with them, furthermore, some decks could be trash but might be great against very specific decks (there are also special game modes for just playing with bad decks too). KeyForge has you take the role of an Archon, a powerful god-like being who's goal is to open the ancient vaults on the world Crucible, but do do so you'll need precious Æmber to craft the keys, and you'll need minions to find the Æmber. Each deck also has a unique QR Code that will allow you to track and manage your deck through the free companion app, find events, and see what else is going on in Keyforge. Is the game fun though? Yeah it's actually really fun and opening up new decks is a genuine surprise (way more exciting than opening "booster packs" from other card games). Due to the low entry price it's an easy game to try out too, especially if you always wants to play a big bustling card game but never wanted to spend a lot of $$$. I'm a seasoned Magic the Gathering payer and used to paying $9 for a single card, so $9 for a whole playable deck is awesome! Can't wait to see how this game evolves over the next few years, really hoping it'll get big and stick around. Since it's a dueling game you'll need a deck and your opponent will need one also, but that's really it, maybe some dice or coins for counters too. Happy Keyforging, Archons!

It's a great game and it is very helpful to have the pieces from the started set
