Clean, fresh, flavorful
I ordered several grain products from Be Still Farms. All of them were of excellent quality. I will be buying my grains from them from now on. This barley was fabulous, cooked up well, chewy, tasty, and the right kind of fiber (barley has roughly the same ratio of soluble to insoluble fiber as oats, but the soluble fiber is in an even healthier form). Add some barley to your rotation, and buy it here from Be Still Farms!

What a find! Tastes great, filling.
I have enjoyed using hulled barley for over a year as a substitite for rice and potatoes since I have CKD and must limit ny Sodium and Potassium levels. I prepare it in small batches with just enough water to cover the barley in a small Crockpot on High for one hour. It is a whole grain and tastes great plain. I have also found other whole grains such as yellow corn polenta, red bulgur, and Italian pearled farro are tasty, too, and have added them to my rotation of whole grains at mealtimes and snacktimes. I tried amaranth and millet but I did not like them enough to continue using them. I salute Be Still Farms for making this high quality organic grain available. It's the best!

Good Replacement of Rice In a Healthy Way
Great Grains. I replace it with rice to increase fibers. If soaked in water for several hours before cooking, its texture is like rissoto, but it is much more healthy.

Been using Be Still hulled barley grain for 2 years.
We decided to start supplementing our dry kibble with home made "goop" as I call it. Started when one of our pups had issues and cut down on kibble. We use hulled barley, because of the more nutrients and chewiness, along with vegetables and ground meat. Been using Be Still as our go to barley supplier for two years now and on auto ship. Consistent quality and never had issues with our quarterly shipments. Dogs are healthy and happy with no issues as they looked forward to cooked home made food. If you want barley for personal or pet use can't think of a better brand at a competitive price.

Great Grain, But Not For Sprouting
Good for cooking as a grain substitute for rice or grinding into flour. I was hoping the grain would sprout for a sprouted bread recipe, but it did not sprout. Following my recipe, I ground the soaked, but unsprouted grain into a pulp in my food processor and made a dense bread anyway. Very tasty.
