Works perfectly right out of the box
What a fantastic little unit this is. I ran HDMI cables through my walls 10 years ago and one of the connectors got damaged. I spent $40 buying a testing kit and replacement connector that I then spent at least two and a half hours wiring up and screaming at the 20 tiny little wires. After all that I discovered that the cable length would not handle 4K video at 60 hz. I wish I knew about this device before wasting all of that time and effort. This thing is literally plug and play and could not have been easier getting 4K video at 60 hz from my main receiver to another bedroom about 60 ft away. The transmitter and receiver are both all metal, nice and heavy, and have a high quality feel to them. I love the fact that you only need to plug in a power transformer on the transmitter end and the receiver gets its power over ethernet. It's dead simple and works perfectly. I'm not using the infrared repeater function but that would be very handy if you needed to control your equipment using an infrared remote control in a different room. This is the best money I spent all year. Highly recommended.

Do not place a switch in-between extenders
The product works great when they are connected directly. What I mean is, if there is an intermediate switch connecting these devices, it will not work. I even bought a secondary power supply to power the other unit and no luck.

Did not work, tried two units
I was excited to try this to relatively inexpensive upgrade to improve the 1080 signal from my ~60 foot run between the avr and the tv. I ended up disappointed. My setup is Xfinity 4k box --> Cable matters premium certified HDMI --> Yamaha 4k AVR --> Cable matters premium certified HDMI --> Orei Extender --> Shielded Cat6 cable --> Cable matters premium certified HDMI --> Sony 4k Bravia It only worked intermittently, sometimes cutting out in the middle of a show or movie, other times working well for a couple hours - It would work, and then stop, and then sometime later start working again. Other times it simply wouldn't turn on at all, the system would get powered up and there would be no picture or sound. I tried getting technical help from amazon who said they couldn't help because the Orei technical support was closed, so I tried a replacement unit in case I had a manufacturing error. I had the same problem with the replacement which leads me to believe it simply will not work with the equipment I have. (Which is odd, because I don't think I'm using anything really out of the ordinary.) Perhaps I was doing something incorrectly, but the manual wasn't helpful and support wasn't either.

Problem solver!
Running a HDMI cable that's 50' comes with risk. Even if it's certified it may not work properly. That's what happened to me. My certified cable running from my Fios set top box to my TV produced a sound but no picture. Fortunately, I ran extra ethernet cable just for this circumstance. The Orei hdmi extender was easy to hook up and solved my issue. This extender does work with CAT 6A cable. Very happy with the product. The only possible negative issue I encountered is the extender runs a little warm. Hope that doesn't affect the longevity of the extender.

Good product, just missing signal distance.
Product works great over short distances, but not longer distances. I found mine maxed out at around 30ft, way lower than the claimed 165ft. I was using my own crimped Cat6 500mhz UTP cable and only attempting 1080p30. Would be more cost effective to just use an HDMI cable at that distance.

Works as described. I like the POE feature.
I use this product with Propresenter on a mac mini with M1 chip to send video about 100 feet away via a Cat6A cable to an hdmi splitter to 2 large TVs. I like this setup since it is cheaper than other options, seems to have at least the same quality video as more expensive units I've tried, and I only need to power one of the units. I am powering the source unit next to my mac mini and the other side is power over ethernet which eliminates the need for me to run another power cord. So far, so good. Been running this setup for a few weeks now and still working well. Side note, I use the same brand hdmi splitters in my setup and they have been working well too.

I run cables through a void in my ceiling, from an av processor to a 4K projector. With higher bit rate video signals hdmi cables were dropping out, causing handshake issues or not passing full 4k. This product solved the problem. Plus cat 6 called are easier to pull than hdmi.

4k 60Hz at 4:4:4 working with HDR over 30M of cat7 cable. Hdmi2.0 spec, but its more than enough for such a resolution with hdr metadata and audio.

Came with UK power adapter. I could not set resolution higher than 1080p but I am using cat 5 ethernet cable.

I used this extender for a short 10-meter run between my computer and a monitor located in different room, and it works very well. The unit claims to support distances up to 165 ft, which is far more than I need or am willing to test. I would have preferred something with a shorter range and possibly a lower price, but all the models that support 4K @ 60Hz seem to start at around 100 ft or more. I chose to go with an extender over a fibre HDMI cable because there are a couple of tight bends along the route, and I didn’t want to risk damaging the glass in a fibre cable. There is a very slight compression artifact at all tested resolutions (1080p and 4K). It’s more noticeable when viewing scenes that require high bitrates, like spreadsheets at a high res, but for general movie watching, I doubt most people would notice it. One downside is that this extender does not support the 2560x1440 resolution. My graphics card is currently capped at 4K @ 30Hz so I would have liked to use 1440p @ 60Hz, but since the extender lacks support, I've had to go all the way down to 1080p. All in all, a great unit, and I appreciate the included IR blaster although I have no use it for it right now.
