It works!
This stuff is amazing. I used it on a bathroom faucet handle that fell off and it’s perfectly restored.

Red loctite
Does a good job at keeping fasteners tight. You will luckily require some head to disassemble them after it sets up.

For #271 vs. #263, only time will tell, I chose #263
I used this #263 threadlocker to apply to and to hold the four machine threaded panhead fastener screws to affix a metal vertical Mailboss post sleeve over a wood 4" x 4" post to a two mail box spreader by Mailboss. We live in a windy area where typical winds are 12 to 16 mph and gusts reach 40 to 45 mph and higher. The specifications mentioned automobile vibrations, so I equated our nearly constant wind as being directly applicable. The instructions by Loctite are embarrassingly lousy. One source informed me that when using Loctite #263 no primer is required, so I thought I was good to go and this was the correct product for my application, but when my Amazon purchase arrived, the instructions said different. Step #1: "Clean and dry parts with LOCTITE Primer". All of the cost prohibitive, large volume Loctite primers, seemed to include an accelerant which dramatically speeds up the curing time. After doing some research for common ingredients, I soaked the fasteners in acetone, removed them to air dry, and then wiped their threads off with a paper towel before applying the #263 Threadlocker. I used Q-Tips dipped in acetone to clean the internal female threads of the vertical sleeve and then wiped them dry and noticed grey residue on each of the Q-Tips. I had bought #271 Loctite but returned it after reading #263 did not require primer and was better for vibration applications. The preparation and the assembly went smooth enough and time will certainly tell.

Locks Threads Tight!
If you use a lot of Locktite, this size is perfect. It's large enough that you're not always running out but small enough that you don't have to worry about the shelf life. The Amazon price is also the best I've found anywhere. Be sure to shake it before use. Doesn't work well at all if you forget.

Peace of Mind!
Great Product and value! Have always used name-brand thread locker such as Loctite. Has never failed me or let me down. I have never used the off-brand thread lockers, so I have no opinion on those. But I know from personal use this red Loctite works like a dream. This is the perfect size for small projects, a the size is easy to apply. I use the small tube for RC car and truck projects.

Easyest Thread Locker to use.
It's not as permanent as they say, but good enough. I particularly like that you can use it without a primer on slightly oily fasters.

Good product
Worked well. A bolt on my excercise bike kept coming loose, it took care of the problem.

One of my daughter's bike crank arm bolt kept working itself loose and making the bike impossible to ride. I tried using some old Loctite Blue 242 but it kept coming loose. Loctite 263 has kept the bolt in place. Good product, does what they advertise. Also, I suggest you adhere to the expiry date on the product.

Purchased this after doing some research into red threadlock. Back in the days (of 1995 it would seem), cars (maybe just mine) called for red threadlock. In the service manual of my 1995 E34 BMW they didnt call for a 263 loctite threadlocker but instead just called for red threadlock. Now with some considerable digging and references across forums and Loctites own data, I was able to determine that 263 is the closest modern version. 263 is also indeed red. So if you're here for that, then I hope my review acts as a confirmation. With that said, the threadlocker performs as it should. The suspension/drivetrain component that I used this on (following the factory service manual) had yet to come undone and fail. And it had been roughly 10k km after the repair so I would say it's held up well. I've yet to need this in any other applications at the moment but if it's been trusted on a crucial component of a close to 30 year old car and then performed according after use then I'd say it's trusted in my books. So definitely recommend 263 for all 263-related and red loctite-related applications.
